Evening folks

New to us 2012 Adria Polaris 7.5m with a Merc. Sprinter front end .
Wondering if anyone on here has a similar motorhome motor
V6 3 Litre AUTO box Diesel and what would the average MPG return be ?

A friend had one and generally was seeing low 20’s. My 2.1 auto returns around 27 being sensible but if pushing on it soon drops to 25

I have the 3ltr V6 auto in a car.
Considerably lighter but I get around 24mpg depending how heavy my foot is at any given time.
So glad it's mothballed and I now get 51mpg in my latest car

No harm in asking.
There are no stupid questions. But there can be stupid replies
Sorry are you insuating i made a stupid reply????
It was "my opinion" Only, so just to make sure i will repeat myself:-.....
Never understood the fixation over how many MPG you will or will not get from said motorhome..
If it needs fuel it needs fuel..OR don't use it.
There you go.... not stupid reply..... Opinion....

We used to average 22mpg in our IH J500 with similar engine, could see 30mpg when I drove in my slippers and 18mpg when in a hurry on the motorway. Fantastic engine and gearbox combo if a bit thirsty.

Our 5.5 tonne Frankia got 23-25 mpg on a long run at motorway speeds.

Completely agree, cant understand the fixation with mpg, given that whatever you have gas to have fuel in it to be of any use thenbthe difference between 15 and 30 for most people is rarely going to be the biggest bill for a Mh owner

When we first got our Frankia I was asking this question - not because it was an issue but because I wanted to understand the “norms” better, and there are things that can be done done to reduce MPG to make cost of ownership lower.

I wasn’t asking if I could get 50, 40 or 30 mpg, just was I getting the “right” mpg. Not everyone is happy with the answer “Mpg? If you have to ask you can’t afford it”

But surely IMOA it is not only the vehicle or engine that defines MPG, but the way we drive it? We are not all the same and some may claim to be the best and most economical drivers ( porky pie lies permitted) but you could drive the same van as me and get totally differant results..
Also driving down the M6/M1/M25.. onto ferry and driving across France is totally differant to driving single track roads.. steep hills 2nd/3rd gear crawls....
As i said IMO MPG is irrelavant..
You got it... you fill it..👍👍👍

I don't understand that ???
According to your profile, you live on a small island, unless you like doing laps, you would surely soon run out of places to go and need to get on a ferry to somewhere?

This forum is often said to be friendly and helpful, the OP asked a simple and plain question your original reply was neither friendly or helpful.

There are a lot of very optimistic mpg responses 🤣 . I've had 3l v6 cars that never got some of those figures. And they didn't weigh upwards of 3.5t and shaped like a semi detached

So all very cheap.

So you are saying individual opinions are now not allowed??

Asking for mpg figures from a particular engine/chassis/bodywork combination can serve a variety of purposes and does not deserve the sort of abuse that is breaking out here:
(a) Are the OP's averages low maybe because the vehicle has a mechanical fault?
(b) What is the optimum speed for best results if not in a massive hurry?
(c) Others considering a future purchase can be informed by the info supplied and can make a better informed purchase in the future.

I agree that whether I get 27 or 29 mpg is small beer compared to the costs of purchase, insurance, road fund licence, service, new tyres, MOT et al.
