I could use some help. I have the Sentinel S7 on my Coachman TM545 and have had no issues since it was fitted a couple of months ago. I had a Vision Plus rear view camera fitted last week and now the alarm keeps going off. It seems to take a bout 45 minutes to an hour to actually go off after arming. Moving Intelligence initially said it was the interior sensor but even with that deactivated the alarm still goes off. They now say the camera wires are too close to the alarm, I have removed the power source but the alarm still goes off. I find it strange that the alarm doesn't go off immediately. Any ideas/suggestions would be very welcome. TIA

We recently had a similar issue with ours (which was the first problem we have had since it was fitted almost two years ago). It was caused by a faulty window sensor. Finding out which sensor was faulty was the difficult part. I removed the batteries from two sensors at a time. If the alarm went off I replaced the sensors and removed the next two. A process of elimination. It was a slow process as our alarm was only going off on average once per week! Moving Intelligence replaced the faulty sensor foc and supplied me with the pairing instructions for the new sensor. In your case it does appear to be related to the installation of the camera but it could just be coincidence. Have you replaced the batteries in the door/window sensors and checked that none of the magnetic bars have been moved and that they are close enough to the sensors?

Isn't there a way of telling what the alarm is by the amount of beeps when you unset it? I had trouble with mine at first. The beeps indicated internal sensor alarm. Turning down the sensitivity cured it

You are correct. I had forgotten about that. Not bleeps - flashes.
Turn on the ignition (after cancelling the alarm) and count the number of flashes on the red led.
2 ignition
3 door
4 bonnet
5 boot
6 ultrasonics
8 magnetic door, window or bike sensor.
9 wireless pir.

Thanks I will check the magnetic bars, we only have one on the Habitation door.

Yes, I get 6 flashes which means "ultrasonic" which I assumed meant the internal motion sensor but MI are now telling me it's because cables are to close to the alarm. I thought I had deactivated the internal sensor on Friday and the alarm still went off, however I have just tried it again and got a confirmation tone which I didn't get on Friday so maybe I did it wrong. Waiting to see if that has resolved the problem 🤞 Could be a faulty sensor or something they did when installing the camera.

If it's the same alarm as mine there is a small grub screw on the alarm box for adjusting the internal motion sensor sensitivity

Thanks, I will check with my dealer tomorrow where they put the alarm. It does seem that the issue is with the sensor as it hasn't gone off for over an hour.

Probably behind the panel next to the OBD port

Moral of the tale is to have Phantom/Moving intelligence fit the alarm themselves on your driveway. It's cheaper and they'll send a tech out promptly. Usual issue is that dealers fit the alarm & tracker too close together.

This ^^^. We had occasional false alarms and it was the bonnet switch even when we used flashes method. Disconnect and short out to eliminate.Probably tried it in service mode and tested all sensors, also follow wiring and check main fuse isn't on crimps ours was fitted by Alan Kerr and had techs out twice to reinstall properly. Had to sort myself once and found bad workmanship.

We now have this alarm system on our new motorhome. So far I have to say that I am totally underwhelmed by the system. It came fitted as part of the deal by the MH supplier by a Phantom dealer they use. Ours refuses to arm properly, and sets off the hazard warning lights on arming that simply refuse to go off. ATM I am having to use a combination of the alarm fob and key (Mercedes) fob to, what appears to me, disarm it twice, then re-arm it with the alarm fob again. It is totally bewildering. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Safe travels all.

Sounds like you are close to finding the problem but I can I suggest that you totally deactivate the new rear view camera and then see if the problem persists

Apart from one minor issue with a faulty window sensor, ours has worked perfectly for almost two years. Have you contacted their technical department for advise?
Thanks for the reassurance ontheroadagain. Yes, I contacted them several times. In fairness to them, they were very helpful and suggested a fix that involved removing a piece of the dashboard, disconnecting wires, putting them back on, and resetting the alarm.
Given that the vehicle was less than a month old at the time, I didn't want to get involved with that!
The sad thing about it is, when we were doing the handover with the MH dealer, the alarm fitter popped across to explain the system. He also left his contact details saying that "any problems, or advice, just call." Well after three or four calls to his number, and the MH dealer chasing him up, I have still not had a reply.
Upshot is that the MH has to go in soon to have an accessory fitted that could not be done when collected. The dealer will ensure that the alarm, along with some other minor bits, are sorted.

Mine works without any issues at all. I can use the proper fob or the Fiat key, makes no difference apart from setting and isolating the indoor sensors which obviously has to be done with the proper fob. I fitted a sensor in the garage myself with a bit of advice from their technical department and that works really well as well. I guess this comes down to quality of installation although I don't know who installed ours.

We've never had an issue either having had the system on 3 motorhomes now. Currently have their Sentinel S5 with lifetime subscription.

That is reassuring, thanks.
How do you know when it is armed? Even before ours threw its wobbler, there was no audible, or visual, sign to show that the system was armed. The only way I could/can check is via the app.
The Growler we had on the last MH was no bother at all.

I have to wait at least 5 seconds or I don't get the higher pitched confirmation beep
I have waited there for five minutes watching the hazards flash after arming. Not a beep to be heard. I think we must have a Friday installation.

Mine chirps straight away using either fob and then twice when I unlock. I would get your installation checked if I were you but first port of call is their technical department who have been excellent when I've asked them things. e.g. how to install a garage sensor and subsequently asking if that can be left monitoring if the interior alarm sensor is deactivated overnight. (it can't)

Thanks, Pablo19. Yes, I contacted the technical and they were both prompt to reply and very helpful. What they suggested I did though would have been fair enough had it not been for the fact that the MH ihs brend new, was just out of the showroom, with one journey under its belt.
It is going back in a month and, hopefully, all will be resolved.
Safe and happy travels
