Happy Xmas and new year to all .

I would like to ask please where I can purchase the strip seal that runs across the roof of my fiat Ducati eriba 2003 MH
As seen from above it’s between the living quarter and drivers cab .
I have tried sealing it with MH cheaper brand Tape ( didn’t use eternabond) but movement has lifted tape and water has got in again .
Decided to now reseal with proper moulded roof strip seal ..( not sure what you call it )??
Please any internet sites I can look at would be so good to purchase the correct seal .
All I can find is a roll of rubber seal.

If I understand correctly you are saying that movement has caused the taped joint to leak so you want to use a rigid moulded seal, do you think that this will stop any movement because otherwise that seal will break down and leak as well.

What was there originally?

If it’s a screwed down cover strip of plastic or aluminium I would remove that, use Sika flex where the join is and re fix the strip.

I can’t see what’s under the tape unfortunately.

I would use a tape. It will be flexible and not prone to cracking and hence leaking. Plenty available. Just ensure you clean off any rubbish or previous glue residue before you use it.
Using tape will be a quicker and cheaper job and won't disturb the integrity of the original remaoning parts of the roof joint that doesn't leak

Hello and thank you.

Yes it was a screwed down aluminium strip on rubber . .theirs a step down gap from living area of about 5ml and even with tape there will be a gap .
I worry about sterna bond as I am seeing it’s a killer to lift if I don’t seal properly.
I tried taking tape ocher the edges but it started to pucker and water got in
The van is under cover at a friends at the mo so cant get any photos today ..

I do have sikaflex 521 here but can’t find anything like a strip

I would use tape again but do I take the tape over the sides should I use it . ? .
Any advice here is so welcome .thankyou again.

I thought someone else on here had a stainless steel strip made to accommodate the step down, which they bonded in place. Have you tried the search facility?

Good idea, a good engineering company could make one you’d only need a folder.

I would just use sika and the old or new cover strip.

My god it took me some searching.

But.
