Hello, does anyone have details of a mobile towbar company in Northants area please.
If not mobile then obviously I can travel where necessary.
Many thanks in advance
Steve

Thank you , yes I used them on my Vito, they were good guys. But and I did not say in my plea for help but it is for a Bailey motorhome. The guys there are not so sure with a motorhome. I know Lincoln tow bars recommend and also a company in Stafford just hoped to find a local fitter.
But thank you again.

A lot of unknowns with a Bailey and makes a massive difference to what Towbar can be fitted, following questions may help?

Is it a Ford transit base (ford chassis) check if it has a towing capacity if automatic? (Some are limited)

Peugeot base, normally connected to alko chassis at the cab, may need new chassis extensions fitted, additional cost. A fitter may not be able to tell until inspecting vehicle.

Maybe another member on here with the same model maybe able to advise what work is required.

To save your fingers a lot of walking there are two companies in England that specialise in fitting towbars of motorhomes.

Armitages in Yorkshire
and
LNB in Bristol

To get a proper job done you need to go to one or the other.

I think both companies offer an overnight stay outside the premises (LNB have water/EHU etc for 3 vehicles)
They will do the fitting 'whilst you wait' in about half a day.

Whist an LNB I heard several conversations with prospective customers where they were turned down as the vehicle was not suitable for a tow bar.
They are experts, so it could save a lot of grief going to a local supplier (who may be cheaper) but who may not know the peculiarities of particular makes and models of motorhomes.

Go with it to a weighbridge before you hand over any (more) money or sign any paperwork, see what it weighs empty before you decide or reject as not as described?

I had a lot of problems with the latter over self levelling fitment.

Had mine fitted by this guy, all he does is motorhome towbars - excellent service.
I overnighted on a pub carpark about 10 minutes away and was sorted in less than half a day.

Motorhome Towbars Lancashire Blackpool Preston Manchester

He was more than happy to modify a towbar to my requirements on the day - he has the facility to do all that and a spray booth to add a durable coat to the bar before fitting
