Motorhome Toilets

carry a tank, plus a small black emergency tank (£15).

Never had any reason to dump anywhere we shouldn't in 20 years
Been thinking that would be a better option than a spare cassette and cheaper.
Finding the right one to decant into is the thing. Just don’t want splashback:sick:
Any ideas?

We used one of these for 10 years. It's big enough to empty black or grey tanks with just a few trips. But you need the space to store it. We've store it in lockers, almost invisibly strapped to the inside of bike racks and ladders. They do a small one too

My only criticism of the Thetford toilet is the depth front to back is insufficient when I’m seated, awkward to say the least.
I use silicone spray on the blade occasionally which prevents leakage which has happened.

Can you give a link to the small tank?
Hi, this is what we carry.

We can use it under the motorhome for grey waste. Or for as an example. When we took our grandchildren to an aire for Two night, 5 of us using the loo. We tipped the cassette into this…

On hiring a huge Winnebago for a three week tour of California a few years ago it came to the point of emptying the blacktank into a proper dump point so connected the large pipe, turned the lever, and to my horror there were several pin holes in the pipe which spurted the waste up into the air and sideways and over me before I could retreat backwards ! To make matters even less appealing the pipe was see through ! After seeing all the wonderful sights on the holiday this sight seems to stick in the memory !

Hopefully you got one of the grandkids to hold the funnel :ROFLMAO: this one has a larger neck so will take the spout, slightly taller for going under grey taps though.

The little bit of "black tank training" etiquette that I have picked up suggested letting some grey through first "just in case" seems fair under circumstances ;)

Most RV owners have an RV Movie moment to relate, we certainly have a few :D

I would check your cassette float still moves, on giving mine a thorough clean I discovered mine didn't, I also discovered that the previous owner had removed the reed switch the float was supposed to activate to illuminate the I'm full light, I freed the float off and bought a reed switch and all is good

Need to check that on ours as the full light doesn't illuminate. Doesn't really matter as a quick look at the level of fill gives an idea about empty or not - but of you have to ask then you need to empty imho.

I simply cannot understand why folk need a warning light to tell them when the cassette is full...

I look into mine and can see when it needs emptying.

JJ

PS. I do not waste cassette space by weeing into it...

Yes we have one of them already. Use it for grey. Problem is it needs larger access hole as the red caps are smaller than cassette waste tube.
It would most likely result in disaster to put it mildly
Need a cheap version of the one Jim posted
Ours has larger caps . But had it 20 years

In ROIreland in our last RV I pulled over a ground level manhole near toilet block, pulled the black tank valve and the 3” flexi pipe split and I was covered in 💩 , I stunk for days 😱
