I would be interested in hearing from Funsters their experience with storing their Moho. How much do you pay? Is the storage covered or uncovered. What are the security arrangements? Do you have EHU? Is it under any scheme? Do you have any problems with insurance? How far away from your home?

I think we pay £490 a year (C.F.O deals with stuff like that)
South Ayrshire
Uncovered - big bays.
No EHU
COSSA Gold
Insurance is happy with it
Distance is about 20 minutes from home.

I live in Cardiff and store my 5.9m motorhome in Blue Storage Cardiff, 15 minutes from my home.
It a a CASSOA platinum rated motorhome and caravan storage facility.
It has a 24/7 manned security barrier, electronic fobs, CCTV and 24 hour dog patrols.
The van is not under cover and there is no EHU.
There is grey waste dump, black waste dump, fresh water, van washing including a gantry to be able to clean your roof, vacuuming facilities and Calor gas available on site.
My fees are £160 per quarter.
My insurance is cheaper with the van there than when it was on my drive.

Costs vary significantly throughout the UK so you may be better focussing in our the Bristol area if you are considering remote storage.

Just as an insight we store on a Cassoa Gold accredited location in Central Belt Scotland. It's uncovered, no EHU and insurance is not a problem. It's <30 minutes from home (traffic dependent).

Cost is currently around £530 / annum.

Just north of Newcastle

CASSOA platinum storage
Uncovered
No facilities
24/7 CCTV recorded
Fob access coded to you
Very secure high level fencing and access gate.
£360 per year.

Use of a weighbridge though as the owners have a transport company and year across the road.

I pay £620 pa, two locked gates for security plus proprietor living next door. No cover, EHU or security rating. NFU insurance requires only that van is kept in a locked compound and pays no regard to security ratings, just post code.

We are in one with barriers and gates with cameras and fobs to get in, it used to be CASSOA Gold but stopped a few years back because "it made no difference just added to the costs". Trouble is if the post code is flagged as a trouble spot I think that does make a difference, but have no idea how to check.

At ours cost is dependant on the level of access, and size/type of pitch, starts cheap and gets expensive for 24hr 363days per year with drive through pitch up to big RV's.

Mine is stored outside in a COSSA Platinum site around £600 per annum. It saves £15 per annum in insurance so net cost £585. I have plenty of room on the drive and cannot be seen from the road, however, old fashioned view that a caravans and motorhomes outside people’s houses looks an untidy mess so happy to pay

Also gives a very good indication when the owner is away.

Kingsteignton, Devon - we pay £40/month.

Outside, no EHU, locked tall gates, pretty well hidden from the road (no signs, advertising etc etc).

Owners house is on-site - and this is just around the corner from us - so less than a 2-min drive or 5-min walk away.

No difference in insurance cost compared to having the van at home - postcode is only one character different from ours!

CASSOA gold.
24hr security, CCTV, lighting, security codes plus fob.
7 miles from home.
24 hour/365 day access.
Outside, uncovered, specific pitch allocated.
No EHU
£620 p/a

It was cheaper to insure it on our drive due to the postcode of the storage depot, so the CASSOA meant nothing to them. We are tight on space at home and wanted the added security of the storage site.

On north Kent coast, near Gillingham. £900/annum (£75/month). Locked compound, fob to open gate, CCTV, owners live on site. Not undercover but on hard-core. Sea on one side, trees and burne on other three sides. Not rated. Few facilities other than water (and a toilet). Not 24hrs. Open at 8:00 every morning and closes between 16:00 and 20:00 depending on time of year. 15 mins max from home. My driveway is long and wide enough to take the MH (7m) but it's an up and over paved driveway and I can't get the overhang up the drive without removing part of the van and roadway. Despite the issues of security (potential thieves knowing when you're away), would still give my right nut to have it stored at home, just for the sheer convenience. And yes....definitely paying the southern premium!
