Hi . New to group . Last year we were badly ripped off by two Irish brothers who bought our Motor home. We lost several thousand pounds and were left in a state of shock . They knew exactly how to browbeat us . Using bogus damp meters and an an app on one phone that said our motorhome had been a write off , which we later discovered it hadn't , they bullied us into a reduced price . They drove it away allegedly to Stranraer , where they sent us a video of the front of the Motor home with oil all over the floor saying that we hadn't told them about an oil leak . There was no oil leak , they had faked that but we gave them another thousand pounds to be rid of them . It was proven that they weren't in Stranraer when we got a speeding summons in Leeds on the same night as they claimed to be in Stranraer. The problem I now have is that I am trying to sell my current Motor home and I have been contacted by the same people again . I have blocked the number and so far they have tried 6 different phones . I have taken it off Facebook marketplace . How can I sell it without these thieves trying to get involved .

If they have your number you may not be able to advertise it without them calling
I would buy a pay as you go sim card purely for any advert for the sale of your camper

How do you know it's the same people.......scammers arent that stupid
We,re at a different address now . There is a certain level of assumption but one of the people pestering my partner at the moment is called John as was one of the others . Maybe it's not the same people but they sound exactly the same .

They’re all called John, until you call the number back and then they’ve never heard of John
I’d use a broker, part ex or sell to a dealer/
Less money for you but a wholes lot less hassle

Sounds like the same guys who tried that on us early last year.
Fortunately we spotted that it was a scam but it still took a couple of hours to see them off.

On their way to view the van they asked for bank details to do a trial transfer. They did 3 transfers before they arrived 1p, £500 and £10,000! When we tried to transfer the money back our bank refused and it took a long while to convince them to make the transfer.

My bank account was frozen for a couple of days while I was investigated for money laundering.
The money transferred to us was from 2 different accounts but the account we were asked to transfer it back to was another different account.

Having been caught once,I’m surprised you appear to be using the same method of selling as last time. Do it differently, via a broker or a dealer,or on the For Sale section on here. Tell John and Mick that’s it been sold and to **** off.

FTFY, as they are reported to be Irish, they'll understand the correct pronunciation ;) (y)
