Hi all
Heading off on ferry from Portsmouth early February and looking to visit HMS Victory before boarding, any recommendations on parking as all official car parks seem to have height barriers, thanks in advanced.

A simple search on this site of "Portsmouth parking" produced this thread (and others) by way of result:

Port Solent, just outside Portsmouth but within their bus route system, allows overnight parking
and you could leave the van there in safety and catch a bus to where you wish to visit.

It is the default place to park before catching the Brittany Ferry.

Port Solent and bus or Southsea seafront, Pier Road,Duisburg Way ( possible to walk to Historic Dock Yard).
If entering Portsmouth CAZ make sure your vehicle is compliant.
You could easily allow a day to visit the dockyard and not see everything. HMS Warrior is amazing to visit and The Mary Rose.
Victory is undergoing a 10 year restoration and externally is wrapped in scaffolding. The Victory Live exhibition allows you to watch the shipwrights carrying out the restoration.
We are local and visit quite often. To see everything would take 3-4 days if you read all the available information.
Enjoy, it is fascinating.

Anywhere within a reasonable walking distance of the Hard (entrance to Historic Dockyard) is also in the clean air zone. As others have said. Park at Port Solent, walk across the lock up to the bus stop at the main road and catch the X4 bus. The #3 takes forever. The stop is currently right outside the main gate unless they've finished the revamp of the bus station.

The Hard bus station reopened on the 2nd. Still only 100m from the Historic Dockyard.
