Hi folks

Hoping someone living in or around Southampton or a regular visitor to Southampton might be able to help me?

I have a medical appointment in early December in Southampton. I'll be coming down from the Midlands in a 6M motorhome as I'll be staying over night at a CL to avoid a long drive back home on the same day.

I'd like to park up in Southampton on a Friday afternoon for the duration of my appointment (2 to 3 hours). I need to be relatively close to Southampton Central train station so I can walk to the medical centre.

Can anyone suggest any car parks or on road parking near the station that would take a 6M motorhome (2.75M high)

Many thanks!

I live here and have been racking my brain but can’t think of anywhere within walking distance . You might be better off getting the closest CL you can and grab a taxi or see if one of the funsters are near

This is a bit convoluted as Southampton is an expensive place to park if you find somewhere suitable - so, park at Winchester Park & Ride; Bus to city centre and train to Southampton Central?

They are only looking for 2-3 hours parking so hardly break the bank😁

How about staying here instead and getting a bus/taxi, it’s not far out of the main town. Not stayed there but had book marked it for the future.

Stayed at sunnydale farm site the weekend before last, a good site with excellent facilities, easy to get a taxi from as we did on the Saturday.

You could try contacting the Patient Advice & Liaison Service at the hospital you are attending, to ask if they can arrange a parking space for your motorhome whilst you are there. We did that some years ago at james Cook in Middlesbrough.

You can park in the lorry parking area on the Woolston side of the Itchen bridge, from there you can either bus or taxi to the appointment.

I live near the bottom of the M271 it's a fairly quiet road you could park here and there's a bus to the station every 20 minutes from the end of the road.

I booked into an airport hotel and took the train in from the airport leaving the car at the hotel (with their knowledge).
