Motorhome MOT

Does anyone know a MOT centre near Chichester/Arundel that can MOT a motorhome that has a gross weight of 5300kg and 8M long. I have tried a few that looked promising but have yet to find anywhere who has a ramp that is allowed to lift more than 5 tonne.

If the local council MOT their own vehicles they have to provide the service to the general public by law.
If they do so it won't be a ramp but over an MOT approved inspection pit.
Ring your local council to enquire.

I have to book ours into the local council MOT place. they can only do moho's after the other HGVs have been done so after 3:30 for us but may be worth a call to them.

We have used Lancashire County Council for many years.

Update for all you lovely people that offered information. Called Council this morning and booked for Thursday morning. There was nearly a stumbling block when asked if the MH has a storage area/rear garage! Confirmed it had and was told that it was classed as a goods vehicle! I assured the lady it was only used for chairs, awning etc. I then had to wait for a call back to confirm whether or not they could do it. Anyway all good. Really handy too as it is only about 4 miles away.

Just past the council depot there is Everymans garage in Westhampnett.
Servicing, repairs, mot and body shop. Worth considering if you need repairs. Very pleased with some work they have just done on my 4t van.

Thank you. I did try Everymans garage regarding the MOT but they were unable to do it because it's gross weight is over 5 tonne. They were very helpful though so will definitely speak with them regarding servicing or repairs.

And they do habitation checks as well. That said, based on my experience with their Southampton branch,
I'm not 100% recommending them - I know times is strange but my experience this year is that the communications are not as good as I would like - pointing things out but not suggesting any possible causes/solutions (e.g. on had check they simply said "EHU not charging starter battery" without a comment either verbally or as a note on the form to say what might need "fixing"). Apart from that, the staff were all unfailingly polite and friendly.

Thank you, I actually found plenty of places that offered MOT's in these classes but when I called they all had a 5 tonne weight restriction for the lifting ramps. The council do really heavy stuff so have inspection pit instead of lifts.

Our N&B 2012 3.0L Arto (Ducato chassis) is 5000kg and is due its MOT and taking it back to the dealer we bought from in Newark is a pain.

I could go to one of the Moho dealers in Lowdham, but that’s not much easier.

I’ve called round a few commercial garages in Nottingham and none of them seem to want to/be able to do it.

Does anyone know of a garage in Nortingham (ideally South side) who will do Mohos over 3.5t?

Our N&B 2012 3.0L Arto (Ducato chassis) is 5000kg and is due its MOT and taking it back to the dealer we bought from in Newark is a pain.

I could go to one of the Moho dealers in Lowdham, but that’s not much easier.

Does anyone know of a garage in Nortingham (ideally South side) who will do Mohos over 3.5t?
