Ripe Insurance gave me a great deal, over £200 better then other quotes with excellent service and apparently if you mention my name at checkout you get 20% off and I get £50.Unbelievable but according to their web site very true.PM me if interested

I renewed with Ripe, got a lot more cover for less money.

Never heard of Ripe before searching insurance threads....

Self build van, they don't seem to care as long as you give it a fair value and it ticks a few boxes (or is MC on V5 which we are)

Renewal elsewhere £600-650

Ripe - £350 including Eurocover, but excluding business use (as was this year and it wasn't an issue). No tracker requirement either (on £50k value) - just Thatcham 2 which ours has as standard

Seems vvv simple - too good to be true? (5 mins online vs 50mins on phone with A-Plan (£655)

Anyone claimed through them?

I note underwriter is ERS who I had a non fault claim with 13y ago (rear ended by a Belgian granny) and that was fine.

edit:
Found a link on a website for 25% off - ran through quote - now £307 with 15000m (not 10000) and Euro use.....

Thats more like it.....!

(edit to add: also managed to get 10% cashback too (TopCashBack gives 10% cashback and 20%, but with some, err, link manipulation trickery, I got 25% with 10% still tracking..... I prefer cash off up front rather than cashback that is never guarenteed)- though £5k of cashback earned suggests it works more often than not :)

My TopCashBack RAF link: https://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/yourithelp - so check it out if you don't use it

Worth a read

I did, in detail. Some quite old, and all "different" insurance types, and no doubt many "customer errors" I expect.
Also read
and

Some gripes about auto renew without notice and the subsequent hassle, but within 5 mins of getting policy I logged on and disabled auto renew. So if people can't do that then moan, well, disregard.

I also read reviews for our current and past brokers - all as bad as each other (Except Adrian Flux who scrape the bottom).

What can you do? The underwriter is ERS who is the only underwriter I've ever needed to claim through (rear ended in Belgium) and it was all "fine"....

I should also say, Ripe Excess is £250 cheaper than my renewal and other quotes (around £600-650 for the year) - so in the event of a claim I'm £500 up compared to where I was - so in balance, to me, worth the swap. YMMV

I did a quote to match what we have with Comfort & it's £280 more expensive!
