Any recommendations for Insurance for first Motorhome I have ever owned, so will have 0 no claims, but have years and years of car no claims

any help appreciated

Go on comparison sites and get some, then if you’re a member of Caravan and Motorhome Club ask them to quote. They promise to beat best by £25. Your no claims on the car may not count but some companies give you allowance. This year I always get alternative quote . C&MH C came in at £301, tried others and one company quoted £524 with same policy

Axa matched my car NCB of 9 years plus although arranged through a broker, not direct.

We are with LV on a multi car policy covering two cars and our PVC. Couldn't better their quote at our last renewal.

I transferred my car (well, VW campervan accurately) insurance with full NCB, over to the more expensive M/H, to C&MH Club insurance, and reinsured the VW with cheap & cheerful, Adrian Flux (this is not a recommendation for the latter but just because the VW now, does very low mileage.)
Always insure the most expensive vehicle with the highest NCB company.

I'm with Airsports Insurance Bureau. They are brokers and last year recommended a change of company to reduce my premiums.I find accurate annual mileage prediction helps with premiums

Try NFU, i've been with them for years .. both car and motorhome ..
NFU refused to quote me as apparently I'm not rural enough for them.

One thing to note is I was asked for my driving license number by my broker and this resulted in a premium reduction. Apparently makes it easier for the insurance compnay to check on endorsements etc.

Try Comfort, they are very competitive on price and they do not operate a no claims bonus system as such its a net price system. They are also very good when it comes to a claim as I found out after an accident in Portugal. The policy is with Aviva so a good company.

We are with Comfort. When we had a caravan we insured with CAMC. With our first motorhome tried them for a quote which seemed high. Got quotes from other companies which confirmed CAMC were high. I rang the companies to get quotes so I could ensure similar cover. Comfort were a good price and were helpful on the phone. Each year since then price has changed very little, se we have stayed with them. Do make sure windscreen is fully covered (they can be very expensive & depending on van, hugely expensive) Also some companies, Comfort included, vary premium according to mileage. So after a couple of years when we realised what sort of miles we were doing we lowered the mileage and brought the premium down. If you then think you are going to exceed allowed miles, just contact them and update the policy.

Hi, I bought first motorhome in July last year and was recommend CARAVANGUARD by company I bought from. Another funster asked about insurance companies few days ago and I recommended CARAVANGUARD but he said it was too expensive. I'm happy with them so worth a try. I keep my motorhome in storage which is registered with insurance companies so that may help keep price down.

I'm in a similar position now as you found yourself in last year. Are you happy to share who you went with for motorhome insurance and why?

Thanks

I'm not new to motorhome insurance but this year am with Caravan guard and the policy also includes (as yet untested) UK breakdown and recovery with AXA. I found it cheaper than previous camping and caravan club insurance and green flag breakdown/recovery.
