Good afternoon all,

Just wondering if anyone has took out a warranty with an independent company? The reason I ask our 21 plate swift kon tiki is missing it's first habitation cert at the moment the dealer is trying to locate it but we only have 7 days left to either keep it or reject for a refund because we were informed it came with FSH. We really like the MH and don't really want to hand it back so I was thinking would an independent warranty be just as good? .

CheersI realise we only have 10 moths of the warranty left but over 3 years water ingress warranty. So this is the main reason for an alternative warranty. Mind you thats if we can get the dealer to agree to this.
Thoughts are greatly appreciated

If it was me - I would definetly keep the money in my pocket to pay for repairs. Our experience of insurance type backed warranties is not good - more dealers are going down this route so perhaps its more beneficial to them than the customer?
You wouldn't beleive the hoops to jump through with these warranty companies and some of those that carry out the work through such a warranty claim.

Hiya,

Thanks for the advice. But good news this afternoon. The dealer managed to get a copy of the previous years hab cert so he will upload it to Swift and together with this years they will re-instate the warranty.

Good news on getting the Swift warranty reinstated buying a warranty you won't know how good it is until you try to claim by which time it's going to be very difficult to get the dealer who sold it to accept any responsibility.
