Don't own one yet
Trying to look for a purpose 'racehome' type van fitted out for use by a triathlete with rear garage spec'd out for bikes etc with sliding trays etc. Only 2 berth needed but ideally after something long wheel based Sprinter sized. Does anyone convert these or sell them ?

first one springs to mind my friend used to use in the british BMX team was a chausson flash 05.
large rear garage lifted up bunk beds for the height at rear for bikes etc.
But obvs bigger than a sprinter'

I'm not currently doing Tri's, but did a few shorter ones and then Wimbleball 70.3 in 2015.
The challenge with a van is the reduced width, meaning the bikes may need to go in lengthways. Might be worth searching for MTB racevans and adjusting them for a Tri bike.
Such as: http://northcoastcampers.co.uk/race-van-conversions
A coach built motorhome will usually give more width meaning a bike may go into a garage sideways - again with a sliding option such as a Thule veloslide.

There’s tons of these race vans around, a lot DIY done and a lot by firms.

The vast majority I have seen are really poor quality builds, so choose carefully and take your time.

It’s the stuff you can’t see that’s the problem, electrics, insulation etc that is skimped on.

I have done a few Ironman events and I have managed to get up to four bikes in the garage (TT bike, racer and 2x mountain bikes) As long as you get a van with decent sized garage then you are sorted regarding kit storage.

Personally, I wouldn’t bother with a sliding bike rack.

Good luck in your search.

You say ideally long wheelbase sprinter size, does this mean that you actually want a Panel Van Conversion or are you open to A class and coach built which to be fair will give you a lot more garage space to play with and a lot of choice.
