Hi i am a bit stuck I have a ford swift 494 at xmas day the side lights came on with the lights being turned off on the switch They would only turn off with the unlock on the key fob but then came back on every 3-4 mins.

I did this a few times before leaving it. On the panel its showing red on battery power. I started it yesterday with a noco battery pack but couldnt drive ss i was blocked in l. So felt confident getting going again. I tried it today and the lights come on but the engine wont turn over. I bought a bigger starter pack took it for a drive for 40mins. I hoped the problem was solved but the same issue with lights staying on started again.

If anyone could offer any ideas I’d love to hear them.

Sounds like a body control module fault to me.
I don't think you can fix it yourself.
Either a ford commercial dealer or an independent garage with suitable diagnostic equipment.

How old is it? Is it still under warranty?

Some comercial vehicles have extra key position which turns the sidelights on when parked up, or possibly a seperate switch or button combination to activate or deactivate, have you studied the manual to see if that is an option?

And they may owe you a new battery cos that may be knackered having drained past 11.8v

Temporarily the easiest thing would be to take the negative off the battery.

Transits used to have a position on the light switch for parking lights .one turn left from upright. No idea if the same on the mark 8?

So as an update it’s the parking lights that are on I can get them to turn off for a few minutes with the lever. Very odd as it’s only just started happening

I would take it back to where you bought it, got to be repaired under Warranty, wouldn't try to mess with it while you have the cover 👍
