I have had my RMB up for sale for several months and although I have received several enquiries and some viewings it remains unsold.

A local Motorhome Depot dealer has called with a view to taking over the selling as a broker - in his words like an estate agent.

Does anyone have any experience of dealing with Motorhome Depot and if so how did things go?

Hi Malcom, hope you’re both well?
I have used them for several vehicles 👍All very painless and straightforward.
I tell them the price I want (no less) they will then do some research and agree the price 😉 They put their price on top (I want say 25k they advertise for 28/30 k I don’t care how much they make because I have what I want.)They take lots of pics and all advertising is down to them ( no cost to me ) They bring people to view the van- simply give them keys and they show van, hand back keys until they come to take van. Money is paid into bank before they come for van. No hassle and trouble free 👍
You have my number if you have any questions 😉

Hi Terry,
Thanks for that. We are both OK. I have arranged for the guy to come next week to see the van and explain things. I am a bit apprehensive about what he thinks would be a good price. Time will tell.

Hi Malcom you set the price you Want. They won’t have a clue for your van. If they are unsure they look on Auto Trader etc,to see what price others are selling for 😁😉 Hence you tell them how much and they can put whatever on top.
They have exclusive rights to sell for 3 months. After that you simply walk away - nothing to pay- They pay for advertising etc and they advertise it a lot👍No cost to you at all. If they don’t get any interest they may ask you to drop price but you can simply say no. All costs comes out of what they make on top of what you want.👍

Hi. We're you pleased with the price you got for it?
yes, he didnt give me a guide I said my price and they did whatever they do. The guy who bought did ask for a little off when he came which I agreed too, but half of that came off my money and half off MHDs mark up

From the other side, I bought through them. Good set up as far as I'm concerned.
I would sell through them too.
The one I used is known as Rove! now (I think)

I’ve wondered when the time came to sell our RMB ( not yet) how difficult it would be to get it back into Germany to sell…. There are fewer and fewer on mobile.de

Subscribers  do not see these advertisements

Why back to Germany ? Why not look into advertising it on mobile.de or German auto trader etc
Edit people go to Germany to pick up vans so why not come over here 😁

I bought from them, the communications were good and they act as a buffer between seller and buyer. They are a bit like purple bricks, each of their agents has a area to cover.

A German chap was very keen to buy my van but as we are no longer in EU and it had been in UK for over 2 years it would be classed as a UK vehicle. As such he would have pay various taxes amounting to 30 per cent. He decided not to go ahead. I can't blame him.
