Anyone got any experience of motorhome covers? Do you have to keep the solar panel clear in the winter? What happens if ypu dont?

If your van isnt plugged in to keep batteries topped up, then no solar will be charging them.
Not really a problem if you have lithium and disconnect them, last for months if left on 70% charge with no load.
if wet batteries then you need a way of keeping then topped up.

there are methods to get round it all, tell us a bit more, how long, what batteries size, type, how much solar etc, and if you have access to plug the van in to keep charged

Why do you want to cover it?

Unless you have a specific need for protection, like parking under trees, it will come to no harm.

Many who have used covers have experienced damage and severe rubbing of the surface and paintwork, from movement due to wind.
