Jeff one If the 2 x lights are flashing when the engine is running that is correct , it shows that both sets of batteries , starter and leisure, are being charged from the alternator on the engine. Running the engine should also shut down that display panel (apart from the 2 x lights) and would need the Power button to be pressed after the engine was stopped to be able to use its functions as required.

Hi GeoffnDee
Do you drive the Motorhome with the Sargent on or off ?
Cheers

The Sargent Power supply unit (EC460 ? ) can be left on all of the time you are using the van , you can turn things off using the power button on the display screen if you are going out for the day etc and want to make sure you have not left anything on . When the van is not in use (in storage etc) you could then turn the Power supply unit off if you want to via its black button isolator switch to shut it down and save it draining the leisure battery (unless you have solar , when it is a bit different).
The Sargent electrical website has manuals regarding their products you can down load , if you do not have them, also check out the Resources section on the top line ,on here, in its Manuals for motorhome stuff section, it has information that is useful regarding the Smart charge feature that these units have built in .
