Hi Folks

I think the aircon on our MH needs a regas (hoping we don't have a leak or dead compressor).
We've recently moved back from Northern Ireland to the south of England, so still figuring out things. I'd love any recommendations for good garages that would do this on a 5t Euramobil 810 A Class?

Thanks!

If it’s cab air Halfords do it, but better still Halfords sell a DIY kit impossible to get wrong, £40 for the coolant after you return the used bottle and £30 for the digital DIY filler kit which, once bought can be used time and again.

Most if not all tyre companies do it too. Had our car done three weeks ago at ATS.
Kwik fit also have the equipment so I would think the size of your motorhome and height would not be a problem.

Yes that's what I use ..
However for information I got one 3weeks ago and it was nearer £70 (return and get £10 back)

Be aware there are quite a few different gases in aircon systems, putting in the wrong one will lead to an expensive bill,

Get yourself over to AC, Llanthony Buisness park GL2 5QT. On the southern relief road. Well recommended.
From motorbikes to coaches.

You can’t put the wrong one in, the fittings are different

I had mine done the other day and although the regas was successful, pressures were fine and flow was good I appear to have a compressor issue where it keeps cutting out after about 4 seconds. I'm waiting to take it back in for some investigative work and if it's a compressor it will be covered under the dealers warranty. Not sure what I would've done if I had done it myself. I think some things are best left to someone that knows what they are doing! As others have said, the new R12324YF gas is much more expensive, the sticker inside the bonnet should tell you what you need,

I think that if you do a home self fill kit then after garages and main dealers won’t touch your system as it is not the same gas,

That is what I was informed when I had mine refilled last week at a cost of £60.

I have a full kit, two hoses, gauges and taps but I get the local specialist to do it as the gas is stupidly expensive
You should vacuum it out to start with and then refill with gas and pag oil
If you don’t vacuum it you can end up with wrong amounts of product as you don’t know how much was in to start with
For £60 is it worth the bovver 🤨

I had mine done yesterday at the local ATS, using a voucher from Groupon, so we’re ready for the forthcoming summer travels in France. £41.99. I’ve used this garage before for re-gas on my cars and they've always been excellent. Not in your neck of the woods but just highlighting the option as there must be one around you. I was freezing on the way home 😀

If it’s short of gas it’s got a leak simple as that

R12 With Traditional Schraeder Valves (Need to use a Drop in replacement refrigerant)
Years I did that using R49 but apparently as long as oil is changed as well R134A can go straight into the system. That is what all the yanks do.

When I first started working on Automotive A/C back in the 80’s . A couple came into our workshop in this stunning Maroon Jag.

Hi, mate. Just bought this baby. Can you re-gas it for us. Guys who sold it to us said it just needed gas.

I lifted the bonnet and said. Well I could if it had A/C.

Just use the professionals !
It’s £40 at a local garage for a re-gas all done in auto mode with their systems. Play it coooool . . . 🥶🥶🥶
