Doing the rounds for quotes on our bikes and was wondering who you use, currently with Bennetts on a multi bike policy.Looking for long Euro cover,at present got 90 days per trip.Been with e-bike before but they were expensive and online only,90 days each trip would be fine.

We are searching and we have two shortlisted

Comfort as recommended by a few members here
and
Caravan Guard who our dealer recommends (and gives them your details - but tells you he is going to) both are coming up with a couple of quotes a bit high but I did reverse into someone last year even though I think he let me on purpose to get his front bumper repaired (told my insurance this and sent pictures of other damage)

Is this for bike insurance or van?

Are they electric bikes if so which?

If they are motor bikes I often found Carole Nash to be the best. I even have my M/H with them at the moment.

I've been with MCE for donkeys now.

But like most insurance customers, this is not a recommendation, they're just bloody cheap

Use comparison sites for all my bikes every year and always end up using a different supplier. Same cover just competitive pricing and I spend months abroad on the bikes.
Loyalty does not pay.

Can't really recommend anybody but would say not Devitts.

Ebike are i believe the only company to give 365 European cover BUT at a price,

Not used Carole Nash for years, too expensive.(n)

Best price so far is £80.60 with Post Office Money, which is Devitt.Quote from them is £5 dearer o_O How about the dearest quote on this Comparison site ?

So who gives you cover for months abroad ?

Customer service bordering on appalling.

Held my no-claims to ransom - policy £90 per year and they wanted £70 to cancel the policy two months early. Thought they were doing me a favour by only charging £30 because I was forced to insure the new bike with them.

Check the "off-policy" charges before you even consider them.

Currently with
BMW S1000XR Zenith £161.00 been in Europe 6 weeks on this policy so far another at least 4 more before it expires.
Honda SH300I Bennetts £78.00 been in Europe 10 weeks on this policy probably another 4 before it expires.
Do always phone before a trip and give dates to make sure I'm covered also have a separate breakdown recovery insurance for the BMW as that's always bike only trips.

We were with Bennett's for a number of years but the price inflated Year on year, so switched to Carole Nash last year.

This year their renewal quote has increased by almost 50% with no changes to circumstances so will be shopping around again.

Why the hell can't insurance companies "play fair" with their existing customers. Since most of us don't lodge a claim every year the premium is "free money" to them if their existing, careful driving customer renews with them.

Thanks for all the replies, went with Motorcyle direct for the Duke as we get 183 days European cover and One call insurance for my Superduke as they were the most competitive. Bit of a flap when I checked previous quotes as they had all went up by around £20 from last week,I think due to the government proposing a new accident compensation scheme. Did another quote through The Bike Insurer and One Call popped up with a very good spread of cover.

I switched to Hastings last year, and then added a 2nd motorbike aprox 6 months 'in'.
They converted the policy to a 2 bike policy at what I thought was a very fair price. (the 2 bikes are Honda CBF1000 & BMWG650GS). Am hoping they don't ramp up the policy cost too much when I need to renew at end of March.

For anyone reading this post and looking for bike insurance,I have went with One Call Insurance but may not have if i had read the reviews about them,I was just looking for the cheapest comprehensive insurance for my Superduke as i don't take that away with us in the van,it's only used for a couple of months in the Summer here at home. They offer breakdown cover in the policy which I thought might be handy, that was an extra with other companies.Motorcycle Direct were only £1 dearer but didn't have this option,as always it depends what bike you are insuring as different companies specialise in different classes of bikes.
