I have a ford American type RV which is left hand drive , i havent the registration documents at hand but at a guess it would be 7.5 tonne or higher and it needs a MOT.
I would imagine that you wouldnt book it in to the likes of kwikfit or halfords for an Mot due to the weight of the vehicle and then the height of it at 13ft its not every mot garage it would fit in the door of.

So does it go to a commercial vehicle centre or is their specific garages that would do a mot test on it, i am based in the cardiff area so preferably around there but if i need to travel outside that area so be it.

I would be grateful if anyone could suggest a place i could take it to for the mot test.

Look on your council website or ring their offices to see if they MOT their own vehicles on site.
If they do the must provide the service to the general public.
They charge full price and don't undertake repairs.
Size won't be a problem as they MOT their trucks.
It's also a class 4, same as a car, even at 7500kg

I take our 4.6T Frankia to the local Commercial service place. It’s small compared to the double deckers and trucks that they service.

I used to get mine done at a centre that specialised in coaches and small mini buses. You can also go yo your local DVLA centre, but they do nit-pick!

Our local council would be who I would use. They do all their own bin lorries so your RV would be a doddle.PLUS...they wont 'find' things to generate income!
