I thought the Black Forest was beautiful - its very different from the Mosel (which we also love) so I think they'd be a good combination if you want to see two areas with different characters. Is the Black Forest not all it's made out to be, then?
Are you still planning on France first before crossing in to Germany?
I'm on the Newcastle Amsterdam on Tuesday, then probably heading for Trier area to start along the Mosel.
What happened to Loire/Spain?We should hit Trier next weekend 14/15th sept. Then a slow trek up the river. Will keep a look out for funsters on route

Did you mean down the river as up will take you through Luxemburg and France? We should hit Trier next weekend 14/15th sept. Then a slow trek up the river. Will keep a look out for funsters on route

We went that way last year.
So following in Lenny’s wheel tracks we are at Floreffe,

We had our own personal guided tour of the Abbye church, the choir stalls were carved by one man, 74 stalls took 16 years if I understood correctly,

And then I was forced to have a abbye beer in the gardens.
Martin
not fixed but probably France first, we like France and speak the lingo, but Bev did German at school
I would guess we will be crossing into Germany around Friday 20th, are you working your way back into France? if so we must cross at some point, look forward to a drink and catch up
Backed up against the road so yes could be noisy, Thieu was quiet and cheap and interesting ? bit closer to Zeebrugge though.Campercontact

Found it Martin, reviews say a bit noisy? Hopefully Sunday night might help that ??
Floreffe as in the beer and of course you will buy some like we did, we did the abbey tour but were the only ones on it, just the church really which needs a lot of money spending on it.Like most good plans we have rewritten ours, now looking at going south from Koblenz
We have found a site right on the convergence of the Mosel and Rhine looks well placed if not a little pricey, but Bev wants to do more sites, or at least Aires with camping behaviour this trip ?
I reckon your Floreffe suggestion Martin must be pretty much half way from Zeebrugge to Koblenz? Like the idea of the Abbeye, is that the actual location fir the beer of the same name or just an excuse to drink some? ? is that a free Aire? Need to save the pennies for the sites
Current thinking now Sunday night at Floreffe, Koblenz for a night or three, then up river to Riel for a few nights
Will be looking out for funsters ? seen a few reviews of Aires and sites on our route by funsters ?
And just look at the weather forecast ☀ for first week at least
Jen says make sure you don’t do the RN67 Eupen into Germany ?
It cut off the corner to Monschau and then past the Nurburgring, its called the road to hell and is a good test for your suspension?
Sorry I know think the Mossel is tame
Currently sitting by the lake near Fussen watching the moon rising
We are talking seriously stunning
Nechwanstine castle etc also lighten up across from us
the Moselle, it will probably set a new level for flooding.
also found this option at Aachen
This is the view from our pitchwell thanks for the local heads up
500 mile round trip will take some consideration this trip
but do post a photo just to prove how nice it is
You haven't starved to death yet then? ?This is the view from our pitch

Agree with you entirely. The Mosel is OK for a stop over, as far as we're concerned. Currently at the lovely Bodensee.Sorry I know think the Mossel is tame
