Looking to fill with LPG tomorrow but street view shows canopy height as 3.9metre which is fine but in brackets it says 12' which isn't, anyone know which is correct?

Are you going in the RV or pvc?, those 9", can make all the difference.

RV 12'1" so yes that 1" could make a difference, as for phoning, not sure, would you trust the word of an attendant?

Called a "local" supermarket to ask them to confirm the clearance on their fuel station canopy as it wasn't displayed!

Manager was "helpful" but had to advise he didn't know and thanks for pointing this out. He said he'd need to get their centralised maintenance team to look into it and get back to me.

So, 3-4 weeks later he called back and said it was x.x metres and a sign was now in place.

Not much use if if you're looking to access within a few hours!

Ask to speak to the store manager and point out their error!

Depending where the pump is ,maybe fill up and reverse out, I’ve done this a few times mainly in France we’re the pay booth is restrictive

the canopy is probably higher than the legal requirement for signage (you can find similar in the Higwaycode)

The standard minimum clearance over every part of the carriageway of a public road is 16 feet 6 inches (5.03 metres). When the clearance over any part is less than this, standard warning signs both on and prior to the structure should be provided. The stated clearance should be at least 75mm less than the measured height.

Called them and they don't know which is correct, they are going to investigate.

All garages have fuel delivery vehicles, which may or may not enter the refueling zone which allows them some access to the zone. As described, you may need to adjust your approach to the pump but I have yet to fail any filling up in the UK (I have failed in France at a couple of self fill Leclerc)

The RV is 12'1" or 3.7m, I could drive in a bit and climb up the rear ladder and a look, but I think I will just go to corley services and fill there.

3.9M = 12Ft 9" so you have eight inches of clearance. If it were less, they'd have a sign saying 3.8M or perhaps lower. 3.7M equates to exactly 12' 1". I wouldn't worry unless you have aerials or other stuff on the roof.

I go there to fill in my Adria no problem. Local. Think the canopy is high as I remember.

The pump is front right so you can back out. fills from both sides. I think you will be ok

I wouldn't worry either if the canopy didn't also say 12', my question in the first post was which is right?

Its 4 metres or 13ft 1" according to sign Google Earth.
First pump on the right, filling at either side, but you will need to reverse out (plenty of space reversing out though).

I was looking at the same sign, but on Google Earth. Perhaps they changed the sign when they realised their mistake.
I have definitely been there with a 3.5 metre high motorhome and think I have gassed up with a 3.9 metre high RV.

If your going anywhere via Derby there is an Asda with lpg at 72.9 and deisel at 152.9.
It's on Derby Road. Just off the A52

There going to look into it apparently, no idea of the date of the maps photo.
