Just a quick question. What roughly is the ferry cost from Spain to Morocco (return) and what route is best/cheapest. 7.5m length 3m height 2.3m width motorhome.

Thinking of going in late October/Early November.

Is advance booking needed?

We used Carlos for the tickets with Motorhome fun discount it was €270 open return for a 7.2 metre van and two passengers, from Algeciras to Tanger med with a free bottle of wine and a Swiss roll as a freebie’s

No length restriction, just turn up to buy tickets and likewise the same when you are ready to sail just turn up at the port, two hours before sailing from Spain and three hours coming back from Morocco,

Carlos sells the Africa Med line (AML) tickets, they sail 3 times a day each way ,it appears to be just the one boat ,its 40 years old ,danish built now known as the MV Morroco Star. Its adapted and it has many unused facilities on board, including the most sparsely stocked duty free shop you will ever see,the old pegwell bay hovercraft had more range of duty free goods available
It is never on time ,always around an hour at least late but one day it might stick to schedule and prove me wrong..
Whilst the port is very modern tangier med side ,the operation is not slick, all very dover of the 70's,the mooring rope team are always never there on time ,my sailing was waiting 20mins to cast off while the shore team were having a mini union meeting 200 metres away ,they were very animated and did not look happy.
Aside this ,its all part of the experience ,the entry into morocco is interesting ,many polite but firm officials all display their powers like peacocks, customs and port police are a very official bunch.
Once out of the control zone its a pleasant surprise, the toll road south is very good,it will cost you approx £21 gbp in tolls to get to casablanca.
derv is currently around 13 mad per litre , thats £1.06 gbp
Make sure you have full gas before leaving spain ,or be prepared to buy a morrocon gas bottle which uses the old bsp thread. 80 mad a bottle was price quoted to me .

Morocco is a gem ,cheap ,quaint ,very friendly ,unkempt ,sometimes dirty, its very green along the coast to mohammedia ,then it starts getting dusty........

Enjoy it ,you will be happy you did it i promise.

Enjoy !
