Morning all.Could anyone advise on the following please.I am in the process of fitting mopeka LPG sensors to my gas tanks.1 is a 20kg undersling tank, the other is my reserve which is a 2.7 kg gaslow bottle. The underslung is going to need prepping so i want to fit one to the 2.7 tank first. My question is the smallest pre calibrated tank in the mopeks app is 6kg so i have to use the method where you put the depth of the tank in yourself.Has anyone fitted one to a 2.7 kg tank and if so what figure did you use? Also would you count the maximum fill which is 80% as 100% in the app settings?I hope this makes some kind of sense. The underslung tank will need a right good clean and polish to be able to get a surface suitable for the sensor,so i thought i would start with the easy one first!😉

The video on the app suggests the Mopeka Pro sensor only works on tanks of 20lb (American video) or above so in reality 11kg or above. I have only used it on 11kg myself so not sure if this is true. On my sensor on a Gas it 11kg it automatically senses when my bottle is full (80%) and it registers as 100% full.

Thanks for your reply. I have guessed at 12cm and I think that is somewhere close. On the app I've got the minimum is 6kg. I don't think smaller bottles are readily available in the US.

The app's percentages are based upon total capacity. So, if you fill correctly, you will get 80% shown only.
When I fill my Gasit bottle it shows 100% full?

That is worrying. Either the gauge is not calibrated properly or your 80% fill cut off is not working. The latter would be very dangerous as there needs to be a buffer at the top to ensure that only gas is drawn off, and not any liquid. Basildog is our resident expert on this.

I have set my Mopeka app to register 80% when our underslung tank is at 80%, but you can of course adjust the tank height settings within the app to show 100% when at 80% full or whatever you like for that matter. (y)

Yes, I'm aware of that but just assumed it treats the 80% as being full so registers 100%! I've never recalibrated it and always fill up with auto stop with the expected amount of litres in the tank.

I also used the settings recommended for the 11kg bottle and did not recalibrate it. When I fill up to the stop on the pump the app shows approximately 80% not 100% on both bottles. A bit odd.

One way to set the sensor up is to completely empty the tank and then set the tank height to give you 0% and then fill the tank so you know what is 100% (usable) whether that turns out to be 70%, 90%, or 100%
