You might need to search back a couple of years regarding this... don't know if was enforced or was overturned......our region of Murcia has just put out the same...which refers to wilding, not a blanket ban...Park4night has several references to the City Council having banned motorhomes. Anyone have any firm information on this?
They can't as it is a national law.Have they changed their views regarding the difference between camping and parking?
Nope...what is causing the biggest problem is camping behaviour.....so many motorhomers are not aware of the laws that exist in Spain...just rolling up as they please, tables and chairs out. awning, some even errect boundary fences or stone enclosures...and protect their piece of Spain for the winter....Have they changed their views regarding the difference between camping and parking?
The van life videos don't help, instead of taking the odd liberty with a low profile overnight in a great spot, there are people out there who take it as a right right to park where they like.Like Jumar we respect the Rules but it’s not indifferent to the Wild West, someone with a Wagon heading to the promised land, the PL is the Mediterranean and the belief that you can park where you wish do what you want.
Years ago this was true l recall in the early eighties being parked right on the point of Salou and recognising the U.K. Reg plate some folk were in disbelief that we had driven there, no SatNav,Motorways, S4S,CC, Internet and so on, it was very different, now folk in their thousands appear to treat it the same and believe that once they get down to the Med in particular it’s lawless and you can do as you please and they are beyond the law.
The authorities have to take a view of accepting Motorhomes are not going to stop coming and accept the growth throughout Europe and embrace it and provide more and more Camperstops,Licences etc and at the same time push the adherence to behaviour and conduct, eventually it has to happen.

Tonight we are in an official Camperstop in Andalusia...just us....council owned...but the rules that are posted on the entrance clearly state. No table, chairs. Awnings or wheel leveling chocks...we comply....but the French van that arrived yesterday didn't....neither did they know that rules apply....I had no option other than to knock his Beret off and stamp on his onions.....
Well, I've no idea. That's what I'm trying to find out.I assume the words 'Wild Camping' are missing from this title. You surely don't mean motorhomes in general?
I'm pretty sure they haven't banned Motorhomes.Well, I've no idea. That's what I'm trying to find out.
I don't even have the blinds open once it's dark , everything shut so you can't see the lights on . Yet I frequently see vans parked up all the blinds open every light on including their drinks cabinet and the TV etc ... so everyone about can see them .Totally agree with the behaviour of some people with campervans/motorhomes they think it O.K to sit out and also park for free.
We try to park with discretion and sensitivity most of the time.
I hope that folk who just see a parked vehicle leave us alone because tomorrow we won’t be there.
Reminds me of seeing a french van parked on a pavement about 8 m wide right across the back & having a standalone sat dish on a cable about 10 m down the pavement & out by the edge of the road for his signal. But in some places in Spain cullera being a good example I saw folk lying on sun loungers in bikinis on pavements etc under apartment buildings and thinking that's normal lol
Some folk eh? I've never challenged anyone about bad behaviour, other than when we were involved in the running of a Camperstop here in Murcia, but what I might say is.."Is what you are doing here in Spain, allowed in your home country" I'm sure the answer would be not...I do find some actions to be totally disrespectful to our adopted country of residence....Reminds me of seeing a french van parked on a pavement about 8 m wide right across the back & having a standalone sat dish on a cable about 10 m down the pavement & out by the edge of the road for his signal.
I can never understand why people leave their blinds open at night you can see everything they are doing, what they are watching on TV, what they are drinking/eating etc. I hate anyone looking in on me, so I just don't get itI don't even have the blinds open once it's dark , everything shut so you can't see the lights on . Sure if I'm parked in the middle of nowhere I might have a chair out etc. But in some places in Spain cullera being a good example I saw folk lying on sun loungers in bikinis on pavements etc under apartment buildings and thinking that's normal lol
