Fitting Mirrors to your Lambretta:Eeek:

Mod 2
Stitching Union Jack to rear of Parka

Mod 3 Finals
Avoiding Biker Gangs, Greasers, Rockers etc :groan:

Nice one (y)

Mod 1 is a pain in the arse. Mod 2 is much more fun.

Good old google just had to ride and not knock the examiner over

Joe

For a 17 year old now if they want to ride it takes a minimum of 4 years and 7 separate tests before they can have an unrestricted bike:

CBT at 17 to ride a 125 on L plates.
Another CBT at 19 because they only last 2 years.
Theory test
A2 Module 1 Minimum age 19.
A2 Module 2. They can then ride a 47HP (usually around 500cc) bike.
Full A Module 1 minimum of 2 years after passing A2. Must be done on a bike at least 53HP and at least 595cc.
Full A Module 2

They could also take Mod 1 and Mod 2 for category A1 at 17 if they wanted to but very few people bother because all it allows them to do is take the L plates off their 125 and carry a pillion which on most 125s isn't really a great idea.

If you want to bypass all that and just get an unrestricted full A licence straight away you need to wait until you're at least 24 and then it's still CBT, theory, Mod 1 & Mod 2.

Ah the good old days when you had to ride around the block, then do an emergency stop when the tester stepped out in front of you, answer a couple of questions then off down to the dealers to swap the xl125 honda for an 850 Norton Commando.

I recall my tester telling me that the week before the testee had spotted somebody stepping out between the parked cars, slammed on the anchors and was shunted right up the 6 by a following dustcart.

When i bought my Honda SS50 back in 1974. I had never ever been on a motorbike / moped...
They just gave me the keys and bike outside the shop in the middle of Dudley at tea time rush hour. !!
Lucky I made it home and survived really..

However it put me in good training for the Thetford bash (y):D
