We're thinking of downsizing from a Rapido 8096 to a Mobilvetta 59. We know that we will have to compromise on quite a few things with this van but so far it seems to tick a lot of positive boxes. The big compromise are the beds. If anyone could comment on how comfortable both beds are, especially the single, it would help our deliberations immensely. Of course any other thoughts from fellow functors would also be helpful, as we've got to the going round in circles stage of our deliberations :ROFLMAO:

I believe the Mobilvetta is similar to the Roller Team Pegaso, there are a few owners on this forum.

I've got a Geist i585 which has a very similar layout to the K-59. The bed is reasonably spacious and comfortable, we can leave the bedding on it while it's up (although only 1 pillow deep). Mine has a roof vent above the bed (which I upgraded up a MaxxFan) which eliminates the potential issue of it getting stuffy.

We were limited to a 6m van due to our parking. The Geist maximises the livability in that footprint. I can cook breakfast and chill in the lounge while my wife is in bed. I've worked from it for a week while my wife did her own thing and explored the local area. The rear washroom also acts as a dressing room, so no need to close all the blinds to get changed. It's a great layout. 6m is short enough that I can usually find a parking space in most car parks... provided I can find somewhere that deals with the width. It's a full 2.3m wide, which is the biggest obstacle. The layout also means we don't get a lot of outside storage. We squeeze in two Brompton folding bikes. But I've also had to choose compact folding chairs and a folding outside table to squeeze it all in.

Check the payload as I know in the past they was very little, we looked at a new one can’t remember the model but payload was unmanageable.

My 6m Geist has over 700kg of payload. Which is pretty difficult to exploit without a garage.

I wasn’t questioning your payload, as the op was enquiring about a Mobilvetta.

You're right! It's massively heavier than my van, and to its almost identical stablemate, the Pegaso 590. I wonder how? It looks like they use a 4.4t chassis, so it needs a C1 licence.

Yes it's basically the same van as a Pegaso 590 but with Aldi heating, a few upgrades and on a 4.5 ton chassis, and as our Pegaso 590 came with 750 kg payload you should have well over a ton on the 4500 kg chassis, however unless you are smuggling gold bullion because of the storage size you will have trouble exceeding the max weight.

Side point. We also looked for a Pilote G600L, which is also the same layout. But they are rare and there weren't any Euro6 about when we were looking.

One of those brands that purports to be high end but actually isn't. Plus, they are distributed by Marquis so no barge pole would be long enough for me.
Just my opinion, ymmv.

Thanks for all the comments fellow funsters:giggle:. Payload, layout, garage space, shower/toilet space are all things we've considered. It's the comfort of the beds we're deliberating. Off to look at a new model next week. It's the first serious contender we've found since considering down sizing. Had a few vans over the years and learned not to let our hearts rule our heads:ROFLMAO:
