Hi, I’m thinking of buying a trailer to transport my Mobility Scooter behind my van
What trailer do people recommend? And also can anyone suggest a cover to stop it getting wet that won’t get torn whilst driving?

Hi. I wouldn’t wish to put you off but here’s our experience of a similar problem.

We were going to do the same but the cost of fitting a tow bar & buying/finding a suitable trailer plus the problem of loading scooter on/off trailer with ramps etc. Then scooter would then need securing to trailer bed, it would almost certainly jump around & get damaged otherwise.
Once all loaded there is the extra cost on ferries & fuel of course. I also find reversing small trailers a pain. Plus the storage of trailer & motorhome on our driveway.
I’m afraid it was all too complicated for us.
We settled on a travelling scooter that came apart & we could store in lockers outside. A elite gogo traveller plus. The heavy battery goes in the front footwell & we charge that on the go via engine/solar.

Sometimes she takes her bigger buggy the back of our berlingo & I drive the motorhome if we are going locally.

If you do find a simple solution I’d be very interested.

Good luck

Dave
