I have a KS Energy 120 Ah lithium battery and want to increase my capacity by adding another battery. I notice that the Foster batteries are significantly cheaper than the KE Energy batteries. Is it ok to connect up, in parallel, batteries from different supplier and also different capacities?

I've got a 200a KS and a 280a Fogstar, all work fine and discharge and charge roughly equally so far. Join via a bus bar then take feeds and charges from them so solar controller and shunt just see one big battery and have the cables exact same length to the bus bars.

I have a 300ah Roamer been fitted 2 years now and was looking at doubling up so contacted Roamer and they advised against doing this due to cycles used and balancing.
They did however say that it could be done with more attention to balancing needed.
But I am no expert

Unfortunately they don’t now do a 300ah it’s been replaced with a 320ah and a later bms I think I’ll just stick with the 300 at the moment as I have upped the solar to 700w ready for the compressor fridge for the winter period, so time will tell

Doesn’t matter how much battery you have, as long as you're consuming and storing the solar you’re generating it’s fine… so makes sense to stick for now! 👍🏻

I’m now up to 920w of solar, although 320w is folding rigid mono panels so I can harvest low winter sun… the balance 600w roof mounted is fine the rest of the year! ✔️

I think they are prismatic, so are you saying all other manufacturers use the same type of cells as each other? as I thought there were quite a few different ones.
I dont know what the difference is but KS, Fogstar et al use EVE cells and Roamer Prismatic.
