The metal harms of the rear view mirrors of my 2005 sprinter based Moho are rusting - again

Had them painted by a body shop last year and now rust has re appeared

I know the best solution may be to have them power coated BUT… is there another of fixing this without having to spend and harm & a leg ?

I was thinking, sanding them down then treating rust followed by painting them with hammarite satin black?

Will they look bad if painted using a brush ?

Thanks in advance

If you use Hammerite the finish should be OK but Hammerite is nowhere as good as it used to be.

I certainly would bother with powder coat, one chip and it will start flaking off.

Hammerite Satin Black is also available in a spray can.

Use a roller sponge rather than a brush less lines .I don't know if it will work but it does on skirting boards

Yes I know but it’ll be a lot messier and required a lot more prep/work. I was hoping that maybe someone had tried this method before and see what the results/feedback were
