Rally Chat Millport 6-10 June 2019

A few folk have pmd me asking about Millport for next year. So just to put the dates out there , they will be Thurs 6th June -Mon 10th June.

Kayaking will take place on Sun the 9th. As usual kayakers will get priority until our minimum required is reached. £40 half day or £61 full day with lunch. Our lovely @Debs has agreed to do BBQ

I will open the list in a few months time.

Or if people wanted to go north or south after Millport it gives quite a few days to go off and do your own thing.

I was trying to get dates near one of the festivals but no available dates then.

Sandra I'd be quite happy to arrange another rally, the only thing is i don't receive next years shift card until September. I'm in contact with Selkirk Rugby club and they have said they would be willing to hold a rally there, if we fancy one later this year or next year I'd be up for arranging that.

Hi Guys ! I’ve only just joined and want to get hold of Debs whom I met whilst sailing over to Millport for the day. She showed my friend and I a Pop-Up Awning/tent which she had and was very ‘bubbly’ about. What make, size etc was it Debs ???
PS. I stupidly set-up a ‘Blog’ called “Finding Debs” in an attempt to solve this.

Hi DJ and welcome to the Fun.... I'm fairly certain @Debs has a 4 side Quest Screen House (6 side versions available) but I'm sure she'll get back to you in due course.

We have a 6 sided one which is great and can seat more than 8 people but is a bit cumbersome to transport so we shall probably get a 4 side one soon.

Hi @garjanco Thanks for your interest but as its still so far away the list won't be open until nearer Xmas. For those that have expressed an interest I will PM beforehand so that you can then look out for the thread. Once minimum kayaking numbers have been achieved the list will become available for everyone so you might not need to be looking at reserve list. Kayakers will have first opportunity though including those that want to bring their own. Non refundable deposits will be taken at the time

Ive been up on bute arran and kintyre and taking in cumbrae this week for a spot of paddling...
Parked up on the north of the island of cumbrae at stinking bay..the name doesnt do it justice with views across to largs and the north Ayrshire coast and the isle of bute ..

Today i paddled round cumbrae and called into millport for a break..
Some shots of the town from the water.

I said hi to your seal martin @funflair ... still there on the same rock as chilled out as ever..

Passed the well known rock formation known as the lion...

Had to pull in for the ferry which is just a 10 min ride from largs

Then back home to sort me gear and charge me batteries fully... with no complaints from anyone

Im here till the 31st ie the end of this week..
The garrison has the large marquee up already but there is some sort of bikers/scooter rally on atm..
Ive done the country and western here once... once was enough for me..
Guess ill have to head home and do my own washing

Depending on numbers it might be just afternoons only but will note your preference. Have you seen theres another 2meets following Millport ?

Fife where you can again get the chance to kayak is being organised by @normanandsue then the following weekend is @Puddleduck Edinburgh meet. I would recommend you do all 3 knowing how much you loved Scotland last time. Deposits for the Millport meet will be collected soon. Fingers crossed you don't lose out again. Look forward to seeing you again.
