Not going to tell my story again but I am eternally grateful to Ryanair and won't have a word said against them. (y)

What’s not to like? Airports!!

They are ok if you approach with the right frame of mind. Be there early so no stress about queues. Have a good breakfast or drink - depending on time of day of course. do a bit of window browsing in the shops and duty free. chill with a book, newspaper, music, browse MHF. The time quickly passes.

If I had more time and nothing else to do , I could spend hours in airports just people and plane watching.

Bit hot out in Spain at the moment isn't it?

Nothing for or against Ryanair, they state quite publicly they are a low-cost airline and do everything to keep those costs down. The vast majority of it's customers must be happy as the airline is thriving but of course you only hear about the "problems" from moaners, usually trying to get their money back.

If you want British Airways standards then fly British Airways (or other high quality carriers).

Now await British Airways critics stories.................

But we don't fly anyway so it's all immaterial to us.

Rightly or wrongly we hung up our flying boots for long haul & short haul flights when we bought the MH. Having a disabled wife in an airport with a mile, even with help, to the flight gate, forced that decision.
I guess there will be no more "leisure Flights" for us as a couple, but with family in Scotland sometimes I have to take a flight, as unlike Tams current experience, they like to get relatives buried within a week up there.
Having said all that, for those with no disabilities, it would make sense to take a flight, with hotel, we had some fantastic long weekend breaks to EU cities. Miss those for sure.

That was my thoughts too.
Alicante is an hour from us and we have a car and all-year parking paid. So, easy for us. Did not say I enjoyed that part but its an hour. flight.

I have not booked with them for 4 years (family have (and I have had to claim the money back)) so know where you are at.

British Airways abandoned The North years ago, 2004/5 from memory. Just shuttling people to-from London. from Manchester.

Pre the "C" word. They operated a few embraer jet flights from Manchester to Ibiza, Alicante etc. As they could not use the aircraft in London city airport at the weekends.

I flew almost for nothing with Avios. But it was short lived. Pity as I loved the lack of alcohol (I am a drinker). Free bacon butty and 2 x 2 leather seats . Many Northern folk have boycotted BA since they left MCR.

You know exactly what you are going to get with ryanair , if you don't like it, don't use them, end of story.
No need to keep complaining about them if you don't use them.
If you are paying less than the bus fare to get to the airport to travel thousands of miles to another country what do you expect.

My wife didn't want her "money back" just the flight she was booked on! Not an email at 4,45pm on a monday cancelling an 8am tuesday flight to work so leaving it down to me to arrange a flight to another airport , then having lost the ongoing connections already paid for , having to pay 150 quid for a taxi to get her to the job.
& yes I took them to the aena the spanish air authority . Not cause I wanted a refund but just to cause them as much inconvenience , costs & aggravation they regularly caused me. I'd like to see the lot go out of business if I could ensure O'leary ended up in the gutter.

Tell that to the workers, like my wife, flying in from spain hungary & poland , to name 3, continually having flights cancelled at the last minute.
The hungarians & polish suffered cancellations several times a week.
