I am thinking of purchasing a Digi-Max3 or Digi-Max4 2 camera system to mount on the rear of my car trailer which will be towed behind my MH.
The rear view camera needs a ignition live feed, I was thinking of using pin 10 ignition live feed from the 13 pin socket and for the reversing camera using pin 8 reversing lights from the 13 pin socket. The monitor isn't a problem that plugs into the 12V socket. I have read that you have to be very careful because of the canbus wiring on new vehicles.

Has anyone done this on a new Mercedes/Hymer, the tow bar and 13 pin socket are a factory fit. Also has anyone used the above cameras and are they happy with them. Any help/advise would be very much appreciated.

Just done similar for a race car trailer towed behind boxer panel van but used a metal male and female coupling which I made a plate to fit at ball hitch point to mount the above to then ran cable to camera mounted on top rear of trailer, then other end to dash to power it up and as the monitor I had had two screen capability I have one camera for rear of trailer and other at rear of van showing ball hitch for reversing up to trailer, This system is stand alone and avoids can bus issues, The metal male and female is available in various cable lengths from most reversing camera suppliers have a goggle

I tow a twin axle car trailer with our 7.5m Hymer and the twin reversing rear view camera on the back of the van is really good can’t see a requirement for another camera on the trailer unless it’s extremely long🤔 my trailer is 4.5 m long😊

The camera on our new Hymer is reversing only single camera and displays on the MBUX screen. Total length is 12.64 m MH and trailer.
Our current Hymer has the same setup, no tow bar though, I really want the rear view this time as well.
