Hi all

Had our van a few days, new to solar and today we noticed our control panel on the MeTer M1 on green, as normal but every now and again the led next to that which says 'error' illuminates red, then goes back to green again

Any ideas, please?

Had issues with lights and control panel for the van (Autosleeper Dorest) however, hab air con, sockets and microwave all worked fine. Could hear clicking when powering sergeant unit on but wouldn't stay illuminated but other bits mentioned worked.

All Fuses are fine, none tripped etc.

Later, we changed EHU and seemed to all work OK but may be a coincidence, as lights wouldn't work on 12V too at the time. Possibly reset itself?

Just left with the solar issue now of intermittent red but mainly showing the green LED

Just an update on this, should anyone experience similar issues

It appears the regulator needed fixing as it was drawing in too much solar (who knew in Britain!) I think the dealer said it was circa 14, and now regulator's been replaced, its now drawing in around 12, and everything works fine and dandy

They've also changed it from feeding 80% to leisure and 20% to vehicle to now 50/50

Drawing too much solar sounds a bit weird.???

I have the same set up and all you need to do is unplug the MeTer for a minute and it will do a reset.
I only have it a 50-50 during the winter when I'm not using the van.
90 -10 to the leisure batteries in summer when you need them most

Too higher voltage

What was the voltage and how did they measure it?
I think they said 14 something. They changed the regulator and all works fine now, snd it's drawing around 12 at present
This stuff baffles my brain
Oaktree were fab at sorting, up there a matter of 30 mins

I did read on manual that the red error light could indicate overcharging

I wouldn't use that setting I would change it to 90/10,. The starter battery only needs a trickle charge to keep it topped up.

Even a reading 14.7 volts is not unheard of.
12v is too low under normal circumstances.
The fact that they turned the leisure battery charging down is making me worry about how much they know about solar panel chargers .

At a guess, nothing.

But you do know in my scrambled air brain, I could've gotten the numbers all askew, I just know for definite its a 50/50 split rather than 80/20....but, whatever they did, we now have lights....phew

Where are you based because I think you need a second opinion?

We're chesterfield
Hubby says it's drawing 14 in at present...so I'm lost, maybe I didn't hear right (past lipsticks and handbags, my brain shuts off!)
I know thet changed the regulator and as soon as that happened we had lights and they said it was drawing in too much, which I did read about in the manual as one of the 3 reasons for it erroring on red, and they've changed it to 50/50 from 80/20

I'm in Coal Aston.
Do you want me to come and have a look at your solar?
That's so very kind, thank you
We are going away tomorrow but if things happen to go askew again, may take you up on your lovely off
Thank you very much
