Mercedes ECU diagnostic help required

Having trouble getting someone to do diagnostic check on my ECU off Mercedes Sprinter 2000 2.7 316 CDI suggestions would be appreciated as garage and i struggling to find anyone.
Sent to 2 who said they could then said they couldn’t I’m Sussex south coast so any suggestions, thanks in advance

I had to purchase a obd adapter specifically for our 316 sprinter I think it was a round 16 pin to the normal obd connector.

It isn't connecting to out that is the problem but diagnosing that the unit is functioning correctly ,I believe?
