I'm a newbie
I am a 64-year old single lady (widowed) who recently plucked up the courage to buy a motorhome (1998 Ford Legend) after several years of wishing I had one. I named her Guinevere (re. "Legend"), and the intention was to drive off to the sunset in search of new adventures, great places to visit and interesting people to meet.

Then came Covid-19.

Anyone out there in a similar situation?

:welcome4:
Great to see how you’ve taken the first step in this brand new adventure 👍

Hi Kirsti lots of single women on here.

Please keep posting regularly. Once this virus is under control, you will be able to meet up at rallies, or meets if you like.

Welcome to the club, hopefully you will have many memories created on your travels!

Movan, I am also into Native American history and culture, and try to visit the reservations whenever I am across the pond. If not for Covid-19, I would be half-way through my fourth road trip right now (this time in the borderlands south of Phoenix).

Wow,you are an adventurer. Hello and :welcome4:

an excellent choice of first van Kirsti They were robustly made and the transit cab near bombproof, with parts easy to source

Just regularly check for the starting of rust and treat it very early if you can, especially underneath the van

Welcome to the house of fun Kirsty.
Our last trip before Covid was also in Arizona and Utah. Native land indeed. Very interesting tribes, Navajo, Hopi, Apache etc. Visited many of thier habitats.

Hello and welcome , get yourself booked into the New Forest event next year ( See Wombles post) Lots of M/homers in a similar position and a great location for exploration, you will not be alone!

Thank you all! :)
AC/DC: that event looks fun and is not too far from Bristol either, so I will sign up. I have some relatives in that part of the country. Would it be OK for them to come and visit me there, just for the day?
Ambulancekidd: the campsite you recommended looks nice, but may not be suitable for a solo motorhomer with restricted mobility (too far and isolated).

Hi Kirsti & welcome! :hi: If you mean this one https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...l-2021-camping-offer-booking-open-now.228265/ then just let me know if you need the discount code or have any queries. Only those booked are allowed into the Showground during the week but if the Show goes ahead at the weekend then your relatives can pay day entry (details here http://www.appletree-exhibitions.co.uk/stratford-upon-avon-caravan-and-motorhome-show.html but day visitors can pay on the gate) to that & see you there. Alternatively they could, of course, pick you up outside the entrance. There is a bus stop not far from the Showground entrance but it could be quite a long walk away depending on where we are camped - the Showground is huge! Hope that helps.
