Just looking
Good afternoon.
Doing a spot of maintenance on the van before our next trip and 2 things to do :-
1). A side window has come slightly loose from the sikaflex bonder at the bottom corner edge. Will check securing screws and re - bond.
2). Maxxfan needs cleaning in the nooks and crannies shrouded by the perspex dome.
Does anyone know how to take the done off?

For the maxxfan, I just clean all mine from the inside.

Remove the screen, then the blade, it's American, so an imperial allan key, then hoover and soft brush to clean it all out

Yes I know it's Yank sizes, Allan key came loose last year and shaft whirling round but fan blades just clunking about.
Had to search around for the right size key.

Take off the inside cover till you have access to the fan. On the side of the fan spindle you’ll find a small Allen key grub screw. Take that out and the fan will slip off. You can now get in and clean the inside of the dome easily.

Yes, done that before now but want to get at the bits shrouded by the dome.

It’s last year since I did mine, think I just cleaned what I could get access to which seemed to do the job well enough.

Having a look this week, will post photos if I get it stripped the way I want to.

If you want to clean the Maxxfans hidden corners you'll need to take the whole unit off. Only 4 screws, undone from the outside, i.e. up a ladder or on the roof, plus 12v connection.

Open the vent (but don't have the fan spinning) and then get the ladders out and get up on the roof.

There are four screws, two on each side, which you can remove and then the whole dome slides out of the opening.

You also need to disconnect the wires which are probably more easily accessed from inside by removing (unclipping) the cowl.

Just want to remove the perspex dome.
