I sent in the appropriate paperwork, including SV Tech report etc to change from 3500 MPM to 3700. I've had everything back, they have changed the revenue weight to 3700 and confirmed that a refund for vehicle tax is on its way to me. I have called and spoken to DVLA, they didn't seem to fully understand why I would want the MPM to be changed and suggested that I apply again with a covering letter. I'm assuming that I am right in thinking that common sense says the 2 should be the same ?

Mine came back this morning with the MPM changed from 3500kg to 4000kg.
Previous van they were different when it came back after up plating so I had to send it back to DVLA with a covering letter.

Yes it should be the same, one of my previous vans they did that, took 4 months to get it corrected.

I have the opposite problem sent mine of on 24 Jan, no V5 yet but it is showing up online as MAM 4000kg but Revenue weight as 3500kg and Tax Class as PLG.
I've just emailed them pointing out the error of their ways.

IS there any reason why they (DVLA) would check the MOT, checking mine, I can see:

I'm in shock I had a reply from DVLA only a few hours after emailing them but they either didn't read my message or haven't got a clue. The latter I think.

I'm assuming that yours Lenny HB is registered as M1 Category so does your V5C with Tax Class as PLG mean that M1s are being treated the same as those of us that are N1 and being forced to stay as PLG regardless of the MAM?

Well if DVLA traced the legislation which defines 'Revenue weight', as I have it, shows that it is determined from MAM.

Thank goodness our MH is no longer UK registered, so I am out of their clutches.

I've quoted that at them with links to various legislations and government documents both here and in Europe but they still insist that if the vehicle is first registered as Category N that cannot be changed and category N cannot be registered with a taxation class as PHGV. They did admit that they had been classing such vehicles as PHGV until early last year (2024) but discovered that that was an error their behalf and having revisited the legislation they must abide by it.

Hmmmmm.
My application to uplate to 4000kg is with the DVLA now. Hopefully I haven't hit a revenue weight mine!
If you open a driver vehicle account you can view the full details on you V5 and see when they have updated it.

Does not work unless one has UK mobile number, even though I have a UK driving licence, which they say is a qualification.

Never mind.

I can see ours been updated today, same issue. When they said apply again, what did they mean? Submit another V70, it doesnt have a MPM field, just the revenue weight?

tax class was changed to PHGV with the revenue weight
