Marmite shortage

As I say to my six year old granddaughter.
Have you tried it 10 Times?
If yes, then don’t eat it ever again as you do not like it.
And yes she quotes it back to me.
So have you tried it ten times?

Offers?

Tesco online have it in stock but whether they will still have it by the time of my delivery next Tuesday, who knows?

There is quite a range of Marmite products now - including peanut butter and hummus (don't think I fancy the hummus though)

I've never fancied trying hummus - name is merely mis-spelt humus in my brain. And I actually hate the taste of unsalted peanuts hence P.butter is revolting to me.

I used to have marmite on toast (cheese optional) as a child but now have bovril, it's nicer. Plus with 17 juicy cows squeezed into every pot it's less PC so that's good too 😊

Morrisons own Yeast Extract is nicer than modern Marmite so panic not. Do you remember the good old days when Marmite was thick and black, before they started adding things to make it more spreadable? It tasted nicer. The own brand Yeast Extracts taste like Marmite used to, not like the runny stuff with celery extract that Marmite now produces.
The Tesco one is a poor comparison to the real think, nice taste but is that runny have taken to spooning it onto me toast as it dribbles everywhere.

nice mug of Bovril on a cold day with a sprinkle of pepper = love in a mug.

My stocks of marmite cheese are running low though :(
We have several jars of the ‘Dynamite’ so should be ok, purchased because it was a limited edition before the current supply line crisis.

Really don't understand how anyone can like the stuff, the rest of my family do - weird.
I really don't see the pleasure in swollen lips & a sore tongue.
Definitely an allergic reaction - I get the same from eating celery. It was years before I found out that everyone else didn’t get a numb tongue when eating it!

What do you think of the Dynamite? Any thoughts on what type of chili flavour it tastes like?

Personally, I expected more from it, a bit too subtle really. It’s still nice to eat, but I find there is only mild suggestion of chilli presence. Not sure that really helps.

Marmite now has celery in it’s contents. I prefer the Morrisons Yeast Extract, I call it Morrimite.

After the Christchurch (NZ) earthquakes there was a shortage of Vegemite because the factory was destroyed. Few people considered Marmite to be a substitute so the price of Vegemite rocketed and it was being sold on internet auction sites for about £50 a jar.

I've read similar reviews from some others... I was looking forward to more of a chili kick than it seems to provide.

Try the low salt version. Very nice. I buy in bulk off Amazon.

Hello marmite lovers, good news I got 2 bottles of marmite in my Tesco delivery this morning AND our local Morrisons have also got some on the shelf. promise I didn’t get any more from Morrison, left it for other marmite lovers lol. The Tesco delivery guy told me quite a few people had ordered 2 bottles, obviously they had heard about shortages, I knew nothing about until I read it in the forum yesterday, so thanks for that I can have marmite on my toast tomorrow. Why do I have a mountain of food to pack into that teeny tiny fridge when it’s just the 2 of us going away for 5 days?? I need an expanding fridge but really it’s because when I ask my beloved what he would like to have while we are away, it’s “I don’t know, whatever” but when we are there it’s a case of “have we got ginger biscuits“ yes in the end top locker with the quavers, tyrrells, and custard creams, “have we got the wherewithal to make a rice salad” yes. Did you only bring cornflakes or did you bring bacon and eggs for breakfast, yes yes and yes. So that’s why I need more space a and expanding fridge. He is well worth it though. Oh and don’t forget the fruitcake and cheddar cheese lol. Stay well, stay safe and have a good weekend.

Aldi have loads of it at the moment,,panic over. BUSBY🤣

Disgusting stuff, why would you want to eat something that gives you a sore tounge and fat lips and also tastes foul.
Just think of how much you're saving on botox injections! :lips:

Love it. Depressed now. Off to the fridge to drink all my beer. Double win. I get peed and more Marmite can be made.
Think we need a march through London to demand output be upped. We need Marmite Ingestion Centres when the Covid stations close.

They say you either love it or hate it 🤔

Well I'm kind of in between, it's OK but I don't bother buying it 😁

I found loads in Sainsbury's today - including Dynamite....

If you want Marmite original go into Heron stores, our has loads of the stuff on the shelf ... obviously us in these 'ere parts have more sense than to waste our money on buying the stuff!
