A few threads in this forum mention this but none have a definitive solution. Not that I can see anyway.

Is there a way of overlaying all the stops from, for example, Park4Nights on to google maps?

I am planning a trip in Spring and I have saved all my places of interest in to google maps. These are not necessarily places to park, a lot of these will be visited by walking. But to find somewhere I can park for a night or 2 I need to go over all these areas in P4N, switching between the 2 apps. If I could overlay them I could just look on my google maps and find stopovers close to all my pre-saved places of interest.

Is this possible? If it isn't does anyone else have a better way of planning this?

I have had some success.

Where are the "places" you want to amalgamate ? Are they still on p4n and s4s ?

I ve just rechecked and S4S requires you to be a paid up member on their app service in order to download so that you can transfer over to maps.me.

I've not really used S4S. I use P4N mostly (unpaid) I notice it does seem to have a route planner for paid members but don't think that is exactly what I am after.

The option to download from S4S seems promising. Have you used that app? How do you find it compared to P4N?

I m new to P4N and have actually paid for this year but used S4S for many years including when you could download all the aires (about 20,000 of them) for off line use

S4S for France, Camper Contact is far superior on reviews to S4S all over Europe apart from Spain where it looks like P4N has better info.

Not sure if this achieves what you want but you could try the Mundus app. I haven’t used it extensively but you can overlay places you want to on the map and I believe navigate from it.

Problem is I'm kinda used to google now, all my history etc is on plus I find it better to use.

We use Goggle maps in similar ways to have markers for places we want to go. We tend to use S4S 90% of the time for where to stay falling back occasionally to P4N and CC. All of these apps link out to Google maps when you find a stay you want to go to.

The issue I see with importing all the data onto Google Maps is that you will not benefit from the information and reviews in the individual Apps. You will also get closed locations (particularly from P4N).

We normally conduct our research on the next the place to stay just before we travel there - typically the evening before. I can mark the location on Google Maps, add any other waypoints and save the route to Google Keep or your phone's home screen so it's not lost.

Your middle paragraph explains my biggest issue, if I do get the locations on to google maps it won't have the info that you mention. I guess their isn't a perfect solution out there currently. I'm going to try the paid version of S4S and see how I get on with that.

monzer Have you looked at the Travelboast app ?

Have you tried Google My Maps, where you can add and remove layers for different places such as towns to visit, aires and fuel stations, plus you can add notes.
We have used Google My Maps for several of our bigger trips away, plus we add a link for each place to W3W's which will open up Google Maps to navigate to the place marker.

When you view a site's details on the SfS website, the map with dropped pin for that site has an icon which takes you directly to a google maps dropped pin at that location, I assume you can then incorporate that google maps' dropped pin into your google history.
Not exactly an overlay, but perhaps a way round it.

SfS website is free to access to give it a try-out

Had a look at your trip and looks useful thanks. I'm guessing you still need to manually locate certain stopovers in the map and then add a marker?

Yes, that's the case, but I find that easy by copy and pasting the map coordinates given in the likes of P4N and others and dropping it into the My Maps search box.
