Mango Tag position

Still waiting for my Mango ☹️
I mounted my atmb at the top of the screen behind the rear view mirror. Hymer A class.
I assume mango has similar requirements. I think it's only motorhomes with large overhangs that need to mount somewhere else

We got a tag this year for French tolls. I've mounted it on the middle of dashboard of our A-class thinking it's still got a good view and it's right below where a mirror would be... It didn't work. I think their reader is actually fairly low, below the dash line, so by the time we were close enough, the dash was hiding it. Wife started holding it up in front of her as we approached the barriers and it beeped us through. I'm not sure where to try putting it next.

Our ATMB does work mounted on the dotted bit by the rear mirror, our first job when the mango one arrives, will be to try and remove the old one, any tips?

I think the atmb is removable from it's bracket ? I was hoping the bracket would be compatible with the Mango

Ours is mounted in the middle about a foot up from the bottom of the windscreen in our A Class, it worked today coming through Madrid :)

I asked on my own thread Annie and someone suggested going round with a razor blade and then using a bit of nail varnish for the remains. I have also googled it and a suggestion I’m going to try first is to use an old credit card instead of the razor blade, sounds safer! Also do it when the sun has been on the windscreen or warm with a hairdryer first.

Thought I’d wait until the weather improves!

I gently twisted ours and it gradually stretched the glue and it came off. It takes a bit of effort to get it to start to twist. Scraped the residue off with a razor blade

Our old ATMB tag and APRR ( Mango) tag brackets are the same
My ATMB is about 7 years old and although the bracket is the same as the Emovis tag it’s different to the new Mango tag that’s just arrived. The old ones are long and thinner.

Ah, different tag to the APRR one we have. My apologies if I've confused anyone.

On the subject of the older APRR and ATMB tags has anyone managed to find a battery to replace the original . I've opened up my tag to check the battery type but I've looked everywhere and can't find one to replace it.

Mine arrived with instructions on where to fit it ( although I can’t find it now). It was at the top behind and to the right of the rear view mirror in the black dotty bit. The picture showed what looked to be a car.
On my Corolla such a position would be at my chest height. My chest height when standing next to the Motorhome (Rapido a-class) would be at the bottom of the windscreen. So on that logic at the bottom of the screen on the m-h.
However a previous owner of the Rapido obviously had a tag and this was in the middle at the top, but the holder doesn’t fit the new tag but presumably the tag worked there too.
Decisions decisions. I used to be indecisive but now I’m not so sure.

I’m going with bottom centre of my window… 🤷‍♂️

If you have a vehicle with an athermic windscreen (and without a large overhang) the advice is to position the tag to the right of where the rearview mirror would be located if you have one, and within the dotted area.

I know Ditcha did it prior to getting the Mango tag. They are very busy enjoying Beni now so may not answer till later although the pugs won’t let them have much of a lie in!
