Hi All,
Our first motorhome will be ready to collect in 10 days and I am looking any advice as to where we should go on our maiden voyage, we are based in Northern Ireland and ola. To head of for a weekend. Also any tips or pointers before we set of for the first time would be greatly received.

Thanks.

:hiya: And welcome. I don’t know your area but my advice to anyone collecting a new to them MH would be to plan to stay very local to the dealer for first couple of nights as you are more than likely to have a snag or two and maybe their help working something.
Do try out everything in the MH including trying your fridge and water heater and heating on both gas and mains electric.
Make sure you have gas and an electric hook up cable and know how to put water into your tank.
Good luck.
Edit: don’t forget the bubbly

Got mine a couple of weeks ago, first trip was 45 min away from the dealer.
Try everything out to make sure all is ok.
We tested everything, all ok so did not need to go back.
Now pushing out, went to vanbitz for alarm.
Next week for 3 nights in Norwich, then 4 nights in Yorkshire, getting alugas system fitted in thirsk by autogas leisure.
Next trip will be over to France around Normandy/Brittany and in December to Holland for a Christmas market.
Enjoy yourselves, don't rush but take it in steps rather than big jumps.

Have a look at
www.searchforsites.co.uk

When it opens, enter the location of your dealer in the search box

Untitled4.jpg

and it will give you a list of sites within a 20 miles radius.

Untitled5.jpg

Click on any of the icons and it will show you the details of Site/Britstop/Wild spot.
You may have to join search for sites to get full info, but registration is free and they dont hassle you.

As said above pick one with facilities, ie Electric Hook Up, water point. dumps etc and other Motorhomers who you could ask for help.

Good Luck & Happy Motorhoming

We know a few sites in Northern Ireland, and while there are some excellent sites, we wouldn't recommend any of them for a first trip as the ones we know are down narrow windy roads. When we took our first trips we looked on Streetview to make sure we could get in and out easily.
