M20 Closed Again This Weekend

Be aware of they are unable to complete the job this weekend it will be closed next weekend als

That makes me wonder, as they're taking a bridge down will they leave half of it on the road if they can't complete the job this weekend? :D:D:D

The diversion is ok unless there is a problem on the M2/A2 as it only takes one incident for the whole area to be gridlocked.

We will be in there somewere, hope to get to cite-europe Sunday evening.

We are not planning on coming back until the end of October, but for us the scenic A259 isn't significantly longer anyway.

If we get a clear run we may get beyond Cite Europe tomorrow night. It’s difficult to guess how long the 250 miles will take, at least we can make a cup of tea if we get any serious holdups. If anyone at Cite Europe sees a reluctant German Shepherd being dragged around it will be Casper.

We will be heading down to the tunnel from Cambridge on Sunday afternoon, hopefully nowhere near roadworks or increased traffic
We’ll be travelling down to the Somme area for the night if we get over early enough.

As we came north up the M20 yesterday I could not believe the length of steel barriers blocking off two lanes - is this come Brexit contingency plan ?

How's it looking at the moment?

And that's only part of it, include M26 and Manston airfield! What a disaster as this will cripple travel around Kent. Some schools in the Thanet area are planning to put teachers who travel to work into hotels close to the schools to assure they'will be able to get in. (n)

I’ve just searched for road works on the M20 and came up with nothing..? Have they changed their minds..?

South to the Tunnel via the M20 fairly early (yesterday) Saturday morning, allowed an extra 45 mins for the diversion but was only just enough time. Last vehicle on the booked train. The diversion is working but slow and through country roads, would now allow 2 hours extra for that diversion.

Even if you are late then Eurotunnel will put you on the next available train, so no need to panic as you will get there.

Followed mod route no queues Southampton Dover 3hrs

Came out of Chunnel at 4 pm yesterday ( Saturday) joined M20 as nothing sign posted. Got to junction 11 and diversion sends you back down the M20 past the Chunnel and all the way down to Dover to pick up the A2. I decided not to cut cross country as I thought everyone else would be doing that.
55 miles diversion in all. Then you get to the M25/M2 junction and that is closed for re-surfacing, Need to go to next junction and negotiate the round- about/race track.
Who plans to carry out these works on the same weekend?
Did see a funster sat at the entrance to the chunnel at 4 pm and a few more heading south on the A2
