Any suggestions please switched off Truma panel have put fridge on gas reset trip after about 2 hours trip goes off.I’m wondering if it’s the main battery charger as displayed voltages have risen from normal on my panel habitation 13.5 and cab battery about 13.3 now well over 14.8 for hab and cab battery when 12 volt system off my van will run with the charger as a supply unit set at 13.8 but this going well over at 14.5 the charger is a nordelettronicaNE287 21A . Thanks any help would be appreciated.Ran all weekend with solar panel and 12 volt no problems

If your breaker has tripped, then surely, your charger would not be working? Or any other 240v appliances.

It tripped after I reset ,it after about 2 hours I wasn’t sure what first tripped it so I isolated the everything when trip went out

Thanks for the

main isolator

Is that an RCD? I have peaked at my knowledge but tripping should only be over load or fault I would think

Good luck fixing , you are doing the right thing though, turn everything , including the charger see if it trips then. Then one thing back on at a time

Remember to take everything out of all sockets 👍

If it’s only happened on one site it might just be the supply 👍🤔

Faulty RCD'S are not unusual.

Your mains consumer unit will probably have one RCD trip switch, and one or more MCB trip switches. They protect against different types of fault. An RCD protects against earth leakage and electric shock, but not against overcurrent. An MCB protects against overcurrent but not electric shock. You can tell which is an RCD because it will have a 'Test' button. If you press the Test button is should trip immediately.

Usually if it's the RCD that is tripping, it will be because there is some earth leakage from one of the circuits. If you turn off all the MCBs, then the RCD should not trip. Then turn on one of the MCBs, and see if that causes the RCD to trip. If it does, then the earth leakage fault is on something connected to that MCB. If not, then try the next MCB.

Earth leakage is caused by many things, but a common cause is water getting into the electrics, or a water heater element failing and leaking.

Just to confuse there is a combined RCD and MCB referred to as an RCBO which my mh seems to have.

After the process of checking every thing by having fridge on gas truma off ,the voltage reading on hab and cab battery we’re getting high on mains hook up ,switched to twelve volts and voltage dropped ,I’ve replaced the main charging unit and ran for 24 hours on mains with fridge etc on no problem, just wanted to pass on what it was.thank you all for your input
