This thread is for those interested in visiting Beaulieu National Motor Museum whilst staying at the Lymington Rally - main rally thread here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...e-of-wight-day-trip-more-august-rally.161595
There is not just the Motor Museum but also Palace House, Beaulieu Abbey grounds & gardens https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/ Great that they mention that motorhomes can park in their coach parking but if lots want to go then maybe we should warn them to allocate a few more spaces! Will enquire about a club price for tickets - long shot but no harm in asking. It's another place that might be ideal for a meet or rally in the future  especially when they have events on too.
Looking for a willing volunteer please :hi: to organise a group perhaps for Tuesday?
Even if no group visit then some may visit or stop off for an enjoyable day on their way home - it's just 7 miles from our rally field.

Some info. for dog owners:
"Dogs are welcomed at Beaulieu and are permitted within the grounds, but for the benefit of other visitors we do require that they be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Owners are also asked to ensure that no mess is left within the grounds where it will be offensive to others. We provide scoops for disposal of mess free of charge. These are available from Visitor Reception.
We regret that we do not allow dogs inside the National Motor Museum, Palace House, Abbey, Brabazon Restaurant, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, the Secret Army Exhibition, or on any of the rides. Please note that there is a special area available beneath the Motor Museum entrance where your dog may be left whilst you visit the Motor Museum. Please note this is not a supervised area and owners leave their dogs at their own risk."

For group bookings of 15 or more in 2018 it's £15.50 (normally £19.50) per ticket for adults & £14.25 (not £18.50) for Seniors. Normal ticket prices allow a free return within six days so will have to find out if that is the same for group rate tickets.
A good set 2 course lunch with tea or coffee available at £15 per person (saving £4) - 21 days notice required. Cream teas for £4.50 too.
They have free electric scooter hire if prebooked which may be helpful to some.

Hope someone shows an interest looks like a good day out and cheap at those prices ,we may give the van a run :D2

Did email Beaulieu about discount for large groups & possibility of overnight parking but peak season so definitely no overnights & better deal at normal ticket rate as can do a second visit within 6 days & a lot to see there but no returns with group ticket.
Another option is group ticket for Bucklers Hard, River Cruise & Beaulieu https://www.bucklershard.co.uk/groups/day-visit/ which looks great value but not sure if all has to be done in a day (too much at such a busy time of year) or can be spread over two days, how much motorhome friendly parking at Bucklers Hard & if the Beaulieu part of the ticket includes a free return visit within 6 days (lots to see there) so have emailed again to ask about this.

I've been there several times.
Well worth a visit and great day out!
Even cars I used to own in the museum

:eek::eek::eek:

Is the trip On. I would be interested in going.

Just Bumped it hoping that someone else would volunteer to organise a day out. :D2

One place you can visit, nearby is Sammy Millars at New Milton, if you are prepared to go a bit further the Haynes museum at Sparkford is more interesting than the “National” at Beaulieu, IMO.

Bucklers Hard and Lymington, nice as they are can be very busy at that time of the year.

The New Forest is a great place to cycle.

Rhinefield House for an afternoon tea is worth a punt

Thank you @Wildge for bumping this one (y) Probably best if we update the thread with what Beaulieu can & can't do for us as a group (there are limitations as peak busiest time) then see if enough uptake to make organising a group visit worthwhile or just go individually.

UPDATE - Their reply back in November was positive
"Thank you for your email. The combined ticket applies to a one day visit only so the visit would have to take place at both Beaulieu and Bucklers Hard on the same day.
We do have a coach park at Bucklers Hard but would need to have a rough number of estimated motorhomes to ensure we could offer them space.
Guests would be welcome to obtain a ‘return for free’ ticket which would allow back into Beaulieu within 6 days but they would need to get this from the information desk in the Motor Museum."

As many are going to Malvern Show from Lymington with a spare night in between I will email Haynes Motor Museum (sort of en route?!) to see if any chance of overnight parking as have had contact with them previously with rally queries :) Might be a good stop off for those who are car enthusiasts.

Yipee...........could be a petite` meet :clap2:

Still finalising details but thanks to the helpful group bookings team at Haynes Motor Museum we have been offered exclusive evening access to the Museum on Wednesday 15th August & secure overnight parking in their car parks :Grin:The catch is we need to leave by 8am the next morning & enough members that want to go to make it viable so will start a new thread shortly.

New thread here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...n-visit-overnight-parking-15th-august.173421/ :)

UPDATE: As posted on the above thread the Haynes Museum Night isn't now possible this year but is a possibility for next year.

For anyone considering taking their motorhome to Beaulieu or Bucklers Hard it might be worth calling them the day before to find out where best to park - looks like Beaulieu have plenty of space but might help knowing where best to go but Bucklers Hard has limited parking so best to check & both will be very busy.
