enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
As the title says, travelling up through Switzerland to either France or Germany looking for options please for one night stopovers en route or any info you might think could be helpful. Thanks

Eguisheim. If you havent been then you need to. Regular winner of THE Beaux village of the year, enough said
Colmar for a bigger town.
Rodemack may be on your way back (presuming youre going through Luxembourg as it is on the border of France Germany and Luxembourg)
ANd if going into Luxembourg and wanting something relatively pleasant walking wise then https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/journals/mullerthal-trail-route-1-and-c5.291/

This where we have ended up - a small free park up, prob takes 4 motorhomes at a push, but it's stunning. No services other than a dustbin!

From the last photo you can see there is enough space to an 8m motorhome without it impeding the road. There are a few hairpin bends to get here but nothing too onerous or scary, nice and slow does the trick!

Agree with that was there 2 weeks ago

Eguisheim it is then for tomorrow night, it's only about 90mins away so ideal, thanks

Have a good time, we stayed on a site just outside and caught the train into Lucerne a few weeks back, lovely town not to big that you miss loads but good for a day out.

And take plenty of cash, it’s not cheap to eat there 😳😳😳

A what3words or Google maps location for that stopover would be fabulous 😍
Apologies, Ive just noticed you've done it already. 👍👍

There are three motorhomes here now, a woosh bang arrived about 9pm last night and a coach built also tried to get in around 12pm last night!! They had to drive past and turn around up the hill somewhere before coming back down and having another look to see if they could squeeze in. As the road is unlit, it's something I wouldn't like to do, though perhaps they've done it prior.

Pretty much undisturbed sleep until 6.30 am when a couple of cars went past and the odd car since, but if you're a good sleeper then it won't be a problem. I tend to sleep really heavily up to about 5am then most things wake me up, but it's the same at home. Perhaps I don't need all the 'hours of sleep' just the 'quality hours' ....?

It's a bit gloomy this morning, but here's a couple of full 'shots' of the parking spot plus the 'rules' for Camping below!

Maybe too late but check out the campsite at your intended destination it was cheaper with acsi than the aier.

Thanks, we did exactly that and got the last pitch on the campsite - just over €20 for two plus tourist tax, BUT we got the pitch only because we only needed one night. It's a weekend, the sun has started to break through and the site is as the lady on reception said (and so did the sign) COMPLET ....

Perhaps not the place to just turn up and hope in the height of summer!

We had the same trouble, mistimed and arrived on a Friday afternoon, first site nearest to Lucerne fully booked second site we got one night then they were fully booked so we went to this site for another 4 nights and it was spot on next to the lake and village and an easy train ride into Lucerne.

A lovely site we stayed 1 night going down to Italy in April still had snow everywhere and a little chilly at night
