Hi all

I'm a relative newbie with a problem I'm hoping you can help me with.

2010 Adria Coral Compact with Schaudt LT500 control panel and Electrobloc EBL226

On a recent trip our leisure battery was paying up. When we got home an electrician friend checked it out and said it need replacing. New battery bought (identical to the old one) but when I connected it up a red warning light shaped like a question mark came on - apparently it means "unclear value".
HELP - I have no idea what it means or how to get rid of it before I start using the motorhome again.

Thanks in advance

Have you fully charged the battery?

I think it means the system is unable to work out the new battery capacity after the change. The system needs to fully charge the battery.

Manual here for it
Newfie
Thanks for that but I actually have the original manual - the problem is it tells me nothing about the problem or how to fix it.
I tried to find Schaudt on the internet to ask them but can't find out to manufactures them

When the new battery arrived it was already charged to about 12.3 volts

Are you saying I should connect the mains power and it should sort out the problem?

12.3v is about 70% charged

When you connect a new battery or add a battery to the system you need to plug it into the mains so it can charge it to 1000% then it can do its calcs on usage. If you have altered the capacity of the battery or add an additional battery then you need to inform the unit before doing the full charge.

Ps. Don’t worry just plug into mains. Leave it alone, and it sorts it’s self out 👍🏻

This guy works in Germany for Schaudt speaks English & very helpful. He can take a few days to answer his email

Schaudt have recently become part of Lippert Leisure, but their website still functions I think. The problem I think is that you have fitted a new battery. It's easy to measure volts, amps etc, but there is no simple way to measure battery capacity, in Ah (amp-hours). There is probably a menu option to manually enter the Ah capacity. In your case you are simply refitting an identical battery so there is no need to change that value.

It also doesn't know the actual state of charge of the new battery, but can tell it's not the same as the old one, which is why it is telling you the value is 'unclear'. As Landy Andy says, put it on EHU and let it charge to 100%, and it will recognise the battery is now 100% full. The system has a method to measure the charge going into and out of the battery, but it doesn't know where to start from until it sees a battery that is 100% charged.

Yes there is 👍🏻👍🏻

If you have altered your Ah, then let me know and I will get the process for you. I did mine a few years ago when fitted new battery, but also added another.

Just had the same happen to me, last weekend away off grid, blew a fuse on the 12v system, and the next morning after changing fuse, and checking battery, I had the same fault light come on, handbook only said non specific fault, so had to leave it, Found this post. plugged it into the EHU at home, 10 mins later, full led bar, and fault light gone …

one happy chappie again 👍
