Please humour me here.Is it possible to have 2 of these displays giving readings from 1 tank?If I have the original mounted in the cab area, can i add another in the rear lounge and have them both working by wiring the green wires from the 2 displays to the the single green which goes to the tank?Obviously the red and black wires will be connected aswell😬Thank you.

They probably just work on voltage so would probably work however I can't see why you'd want to its not something you check frequently normally.

Those ones with the set of 6 or 7 led dots are seriously bright at night. I wouldn’t want a second one.

I have the original gauge fitted on the cab next to the divers position.I had to turn on the ignition to view it.I bought another one with a built in on/off switch which I have fitted in a locker in the lounge. The original would leave a hole in the dash if i removed it.Hence my original question.

I have fitted a push to connect switch to my dash for the dash mounted gauge and used a permanent live feed so don't need the ignition on. Agree, it will be another hole if removed but easily covered.

I'd be happy to have one in the lounge area too but wonder if one would use a hab or vehicle 12v (red and black) as this is how it lights the gauge and presumably measures the resistance from the tank (from the same 12v that powers the gauge fed back over green) to show the level...? Might be over thinking this, the gauge may just need a "signal" from the green and not care where it gets its 12v.

I am going to connect the original back up and see what happens.Should have done that in the first place😁

The gauge measures the resistance of a variable resistor, about 200 ohms maximum. I would imagine two gauges is quite OK, as long as you only use one at a time, which is the most likely usage anyway. Put a switch on both of them so they are only active when you want to read them.

I did find that when both were connected and both turned on,the original gauge read correctly but the recently installed one read full.Even with the original one turned off the new one still read full.I then disconnected the green wire on the original gauge and the new one started reading correctly.I have decided just to leave the original one in place in the dash even though it doesn't work..Life is too short for this lark on a Sunday morning😩

The readings would be even less accurate. The tank sender unit has a variable resistor, or rheostat. The gague also has a resistor in it and the display is proportionate to the voltage at the junction. Two displays means you have two gague unit resistors which will result in an eronious display. Just move the single display to where you need it.
Or fit a change over switch.

Because I have Victron kit and a Cerbo GX (with GX Touch screen) I hooked my LPG level to it.
I can read my LPG level and fresh water level on my screen in the van, on my mobile phone and on any web browser.
Most of the tank level senders are based on resistance. You can configure the Cerbo (set upper and lower resistance limits)

Just have one in the lounge. Its not going to run out when you are driving.
I think that if he would like two gauges, then good luck to him. It is not up to us to criticise other desires. I personally don't believe that it is possible to have too much information.

I was hoping the OP might give us some idea of the advantages of having two gauges. I don't find it's something I need to check frequently. Mine are in the garage.
I don't think there was any intention of criticism, just hoping to be informed.

I explained in post number 6 my scenario.I wasnt really asking for approval, just simply can you have 2?

I use a similar setup but with a mopeka pro sensor

That is a very impressive set up Ditcha. I will be happy to just not run out of LPG😉

Do these just stay in place with magnets on an underslung tank?At £56 I wouldn't want it falling off onto the road😩

I sprayed our underslung tank with a rubberised anti-stone chip paint and although the my Mopecka sensor magnet gripped onto the tank I made an aluminium cover to hold the sensor in place and give it some protection from road muck and spray.

The aluminium cover trial fitted and ready to paint.

You can buy a mounting kit as well

That mounting collar is for flat surfaces Dave, no good for an underslung tank.
