Hi, I've made the silly mistake of not checking LPG adapter requirements in Spain. I have a fixed tank with acme connection. Two questions;

Are stations with bayonet fillers widespread?

Does anyone know if I can purchase an adapter(s) to fit the euro connectors in Spain?

Many thanks

You need a euro adapter there are no bayonet ones there.

Try local camping shops, Chinese bazar or amazon.es for local delivery.

If ordering one there are two types one with a non return valve and one without.
You need the one without the non return valve.
Interesting, I didn't know there were 2 versions as I just ordered a set of adaptors about 15 years ago and wasn't given the option.
Mine has the non return valve and I can confirm that you don't want one, certainly on Gaslow installations.
When the fill hose is pressurised it makes it difficult to unscrew the adaptor, so you grip it tighter which helps ensure you get freeze burns when the seal breaks.
I now have a pair of thick gloves in my gas locker, but I'm going to looking into drilling out the valve!!

You can just knock the valve out.

Hi
I was in Spain, in January and February, my adapter failed at a garage and the garage had all the adapters for sale, i bought one which was better quality than the one i had. After that I saw a few for sale at garages.

I would personally hang on to the adaptor with the non return valve as it’s handy if you ever have an issue with the filler point leaking.
Purchase another adaptor without the NRV
Seeing your burns only reinforces our advice not to use the filters that are available for use on the filler as they significantly increase the discharge volume when disconnecting the gun ⚠️

On our trip to Spain last summer we found that the very helpful ladies staffing Repsol filling stations were more than willing to do the lpg filling for you. They always had the required adapter. However we usually did it ourselves. Lpg was a pretty good price at Repsol although diesel was much cheaper at Pleinoil so we always looked for the closest one of those in google maps.........usually at least 20 cents a litre cheaper.

Can I ask if there is a special technique in attaching a nozzle to the Spanish Euo adapter? I have a Gaslow adapter and I always struggle to get the Spanish nozzle attached to the adapter!! Any advice would be appreciated

Don't think so, I've always thought they were the easiest to connect too, just push the gun on and push the lever down.

Be careful we were refusedLPG in Spain by Cepsa garages stating new law that will only sell LPG to a vehicle that runs on it we have a gaslow system no problem in France

That's always been the law in Spain, Portugal, France & Italy.

That's an idea, but I can't close my gas locker with an adaptor installed. I guess as a temporary solution I'd be able to unscrew the fill point bracket and move it into the locker.

I do my best not to get caught out with non propulsion gas.
Firstly I never buy diesel at the same station as lpg, a dead giveaway.
I also have a dual fuel lpg sticker from ebay wouldn't fool anyone reasonable knowledgeable but forecourt attendants might not know.
Filler is not in the gas locker.

You have to hold it perfectly in line so it goes on straight. I had a Spanish boy come out to help me in Benidorm because the pump wouldn't start. He disconnected it and tried reconnecting it and couldn't get it back on, I could see he was pushing it on pissed... I nearly told him to "Come out of my way!" 😜
